had a tiny bit of brown spotting last might and then just now there was some brown spotting on the liner and a tiny bit of pink when I wiped. I've been having some sharp little pains in the lower abdomen so getting worried now as that is what happened when I previously miscarried.

I've got a scan booked on Thursday anyway, do I wait till then or try and get seen somewhere earlier? Haven't registered with a midwife or hospital yet

Are you on pessaries? I’ve had two lots of brown spotting so far. Once was after we had had sex and once I think my cervix was fairly low and was irritated by the crinone applicator, it’s not taking much to irritate it at the moment. They say brown blood is ok and it’s just red blood you should worry about. I’ve had some days with really strong cramping and sharp pinching pains too. However I wouldn’t want to say don’t go to EPU or somewhere - if you are worried then do get checked out. Hope all is ok x

thanks Daisy, yes i'm on cyclogest but i'm not using the applicators , just doing them manually. It was a bit sore when I inserted them yesterday so I am hoping it's just that!

Sort of feel like if it was the worst case they wouldn't be able to do anything at this stage anyway so I may as well wait for the scan on thurs.

Hope you're ok too! Xx

you can call 111 they will arrange a gp appointment and might also refer you to EPU too, that’s what I did and actually the gp I got referred to really put my mind at rest. Wishing you all the best xx

Thanks Star, if it continues I think I will try that. Typical that it happens at the weekend as well! Glad the GP made you feel better! xx

Hi there, this happened to us and became red and we were sure we were having another miscarriage but we were wrong. It’s really scary but just wanted to give you a good outcome to focus on.x. Our lovely EPU did move our scan forward but I know this is not always possible as they can be so busy.x Keeping everything crossed for you.x

I had spotting until around 12 weeks, when I stopped the cyclogest. I would keep going as you are and wait for your scan as there isn't anything you can really do. Im not sure epu will do anything unless your filling a pad or in some real pain. I had cramps but put this down to babe getting nice and comfy, so just think about that, working it's way into your nice comfy lining 😘❤️ Easier said that done but try to keep those positive pants on and not live through something that might not even happen xxx

Thanks Holly, those are very wise words, so true, just need to stop tormenting myself! Just saw from your profile that your due very soon? All the best! Random question, what are sweeps?

I've been there and it's horrible, truth is, all it takes is one bad moment and you feel like crap again. but keep on going because this could very well be your time, when negative Nancy creeps in, consciously replace that that and tell yourself NO! Everything is going as it should. ❤️ I have faith in it for you.

I'm due next Tuesday but probably be induced next week, sprout is 9lb already 🤦🏻‍♀️ the mindset through pregnancy has been so different to baby number 1 as i have him as proof that everything can be OK regardless of spotting, cramps, faint bfps!

So a sweep is where the midwife sweeps her finger around your cervix to separate the membranes of the sac surrounding babe from your cervix. it's supposed to release hormones to help start labour... safe to safe it didnt work this time or last time!

make sure you keep us updated on how your little bean is doing ❤️😘

Yes it really just does take one moment to feel crap again! I used to be a really positive person, the last few years have really beaten me down but i'm making a conscious effort to get better so will keep your words in mind. I will keep you updated, thank you and best wishes for next week! xx

I had exactly the same a few times in first 12 weeks. Each time got an epu scan and all fine. They said it’s the meds/just happens.

I really worried, but I think unless it turns into heavy bleeding it’s very likely just normal spotting. Sending the love xx

It’s so common to spot-i did at 8 weeks, little bit of red, and midwife says it’s so common she said not to bother getting a scan and not to worry unless it gets worse or I cramp. I think we’re so attuned to it with infertility we have to think the worst but it happens all the time in healthy natural pregnancy. My pregnancy was fine, LO is 7mo now 😊 xx

Update: - had the scan today, news was bittersweet, I was pregnant with twins and and one is progressing as it should which i'm so grateful for but the other whilst only measuring a couple of days behind doesn't have a heartbeat any more. Right now the grief seems to be outweighing the happiness at still being further along than ever but just so scared now for the remaining one.

in reply toki50

Do you have a follow up scan? Sorry to read this....we had a 'vanishing twin' this pregnancy and I am 14 weeks with the remaining one, and all ok so far x

My next scan will have to be the midwife one rather than the clinic and ive done the self referral form but not heard from them or got anything else booked in yet. Sorry to hear about your vanishing twin but glad the remaining one is doing well! We did see the heartbeat on both at 6 weeks and looks like it possibly only stopped a couple of days ago due to the size. X

We were shocked to see the 2nd sac - but happy to have the remaining healthy baby. Fingers crossed for us both! We were told we could not do Harmony scan due to 2nd gestational sac as it could generate false positives for abnormalities in the remaining twin. X

Yes I did read that, what tests did tou decide to go for instead? Fingers very firmly crossed! xx

in reply toki50

They let us do the combined test so that was good.

Fingers crossed.
