I know this is a silly question and I could just Google it but I really don’t trust Google!
I’m 4w4d today and I haven’t had a bath since my egg collection and really miss them!
I forgot to ask the nurse when I spoke to them but just wanted to know if it’s safe to have one or if I should wait until I’m further along?
thanks!

So, not sure what professional opinion is, but I don't have hot baths in pregnancy. I use a baby thermometer to check the temp and keep it fairly cool.
Maybe being paranoid, but I had a healthy baby 1st time around so not changing anything.....
I had just about warm showers wihr our first, I was petrified of doing anything to loose the baby. This time around I've had warm baths until I struggled to get out 😂 and I love a hot shower to wash the day away (only the last bit ill have a little blast!) 😂 I don't think hot baths are recommended xxx
Not a silly question. I had the same dilemma and was so unsure about the guidance online that I waited until after week 24 before I had my first bath! I believe the temperature shouldn’t go above 37 degrees and I measured it with two different devices to be on the safe side. 🤣🤣As usual, don’t do anything you’ll then regret if you are not confident on the guidance, particularly in those early weeks.
Yeah like the others said warm baths or showers only. The danger is that raising your body temperature over 38c is bad for the embryo. I love hot showers but have just been having warm showers since the TWW. Can’t wait until I can turn it up again! X
I love a hot bath… I was told no baths for 2 weeks after EC due to risk of infection. My last round was successful and since the two weeks have passed, I’ve been using a baby bath thermometer to make sure the water is not above 38 degrees. I’ve read that studies show slightly elevated risk of spinal cord defects from using hot tubs, so the advice is warm rather than hot baths only in first 12 weeks. Not sure of the advice beyond that, but I’m sticking with my bath thermometer for the whole pregnancy to be on the safe side. Congratulations
I waited until I was 2nd trimester. I also missed them but was paranoid. I also had a little too hot baths until we realised we were supposed to use the baby thermometer. Although I started them around 39 deg it quickly cooled to 38 - 37-38 is the recommended temp
