I’m almost 9 weeks and for the last 4ish days have been getting a dull stabbing pain, in or near one ovary. Always on the left side and it’s getting quite frequent, I get twinges every half hour or so. It’s not hugely painful but definitely noticeable. I have PCOS if that makes a difference?
I know aches and pains of all sorts can be normal in early pregnancy, it’s just nagging at my anxiety that it’s always the same pain in the same place, and is getting worse. I’m under the care of my local EPU have said I can get scanned (within reason) as often as I want but I’m really reluctant to do this before Christmas. I know, too scared for a reassurance scan, I’m a hopeless case 🤦♀️ Please someone tell me this is completely normal! Xx

Hey my darling girl .Like you said all this little aches and pains play on your mind and especially with a history .Look I was exactly the same twinges shooting pains early on and I said sod all to anyone because I was desperate for everything to be ok .Don’t be hesitant if you have doubts you go and have that scan !! I had a fantastic midwife and sonographer that actually came to meet Grayson at my home after he was born .If the option is there for you to be monitored and you have doubts you go and get checked .I hope everything will be ok and I can’t wait forn2023 just for that birth announcement.Good luck and don’t rest on your laurels trust your instinct .go and get scanned and then enjoy Christmas with Teddy and crew xxxxxx lots of love Solly xxxx
Hey, I know I had some really quite painful pains which sound similar. I kept telling midwives etc and they all looked at me blankly! I put it down to early growing pains and scar tissue. Some days it hurt to walk. Having said all of that I wouldn’t want you to ignore them in case they are different to what I had so I recommend going to EPU just for peace of mind over Christmas? Hugs xx
My daughter had these pains on her left side most days in the first trimester - she also has PCOS. These still happen occasionally but no longer daily so her anxiety has reduced - she is 23 weeks pregnant now - her OBGYN has been seeing her weekly as she also had spotting off and on - such a relief to learn the spotting was from a cervical polyp which her OB is not concerned about - she does a quick scan in her rooms each week just to lessen my daughters anxiety which has been lovely - the OB put the sharp pains down to round ligament pain/ a stretching uterus or possibly bowel related as constipation has been a problem - anyway everying is going well now and I’m sure it will for you also xo
I think I have these pains but usually only when I'm walking. I am usually a big hiker and love to walk, but since I got pregnant I now feel like I have to slowly hobble about. The pain is always left side and goes away when I stop. I googled it and it seemed to suggest it is normal growing pains but I may mention to the midwife as it is a bit worrying!
