Early pregnancy cramping

I had my BFP this week, but I'm still getting on and off cramping. It's worse in the afternoon/evenings. It's like mild period pain, but it seems to go in for several hours. Someone tell me that this is normal!

Worth saying my beta HCG was good and the clinic say it's just the hormones. But I just can't help worrying.

First of all congratulations on your BFP 🥳🥳Secondly cramping like this is completely normal. Things are already beginning to stretch as your little one gets comfy. I had cramping on and off for weeks and know that it can be worrying but as long as you are not having really bad pain and there is no bleeding then everything else is normal.

Hope you have a great pregnancy 🙂 xx

Congrats on your BFP. It's hard not to stress, as we tend to associate cramping with periods, but it's just a sign that there's a lot of stuff going on in there and your uterus is preparing to stretch out. It's really normal in pregnancy. Looking good so far, hope everything continues to go well xxx

The main thing that made me suspect I was pregnant was cramping every day but no period. I never cramp much on my period actually, few hours on day 1 then nothing. So that made me wonder if we'd finally got lucky naturally! Anyway, thr cramps continued on and off for a good while after, I'd say off and on up to maybe week 6 or 7! Never painful, and no blood, so I tried not to stress too much about them. But I googled loads and it seems pretty common as the baby starts to settle in. Xx

Congratulations! And just to say I'm exactly the same - as you say, it's mild but it goes on for ages!!! I've had it on and off since 5+2 ish and I'm now 6+3...

It's definitely worse in the afternoon/evening!

Hi lovely. So sorry this is stressing you out. I had period style cramping for the whole first trimester off and on. I think it’s quite common as a lot is happening in your uterus! 🧡

Cramping is completely normal in early pregnancy as long as its mild and goes away when you rest or move. Its caused by your womb and surrounding ligaments stretching and growing to make space for baby, called round ligament pain. If you get any bleeding call you EPU for advice. I had cramping for most of the first trimester. Congratulations on your BFP🥳 X

Thank you. Just to say we had an early scan today bang on 6weeks, and all is going well and we saw a heartbeat. Looks like I just have to ride out the cramping.
