Good luck, I took maternity joggers with me they were so comfy for coming home and dressing gown for before and after surgery. Hairbrush, toiletries. I think that's all I had, oh and a, good book while u wait. You will be fine and enjoy the movies and being spoilt after. Let us know how it goes. I was told my results in recovery which was a bit hazy because I was still Coming round x
Thank you I’ve got baggie joggers to wear, my boyfriend is coming so hopefully he’ll take in what they say incase I’m out of it ahah, I’ll definitely make the most of the boyfriend looking after me 😂 x
I was told my results in recovery too! Such a silly thing for doctors to do, you cant remember much at all! 🤦♀️ ask for them to talk to you once you have come around properly. They like to do in recovery as quicker and easier for them, but not best for the patient xx
Good luck for tomorrow. I had mine last Friday - and they found... nothing.
It’s bittersweet - just tell yourself that the worst case scenario is they find something. If they don’t then they will continue to look for the reason you’re in so much pain. Either way you either find a cause or eliminate something major.
In terms of what to take- sounds weird but take a dress for the next day and a big coat. I imagine you’re going to get picked up in a car so having a dress on means you don’t have a waist band. The coat will keep you warm.
I organised my room the night before and made sure the things I needed were chest level as I knew I wouldn’t be able to bend down.
Peppermint really helps to expel the gas as does standing up and doing some gentle pacing (do what you can manage). Make sure you have someone to stay with you the first few days and provide you with meals.
You will probably be a bit bunged up after surgery so things like prunes and fruit really helped me. The gas makes you feel bloated enough, so the quicker you get your bowls moving the better.
Good Luck- feel free to drop me a message if you have any more queries.
Thank you I guess I’m just so desperate for answers that if they don’t find anything tomorrow I don’t know what is wrong, endo explains all of my symptoms so I guess I’m more scared of the unknown, I’ve organised my flat and changed all of my cupboards around as I’m short af so I’ve put everything I use regularly at a easy height to reach. I hope you get to the bottom of your symptoms too xx
My laparoscopy is tomorrow and I’m feeling exactly the same. Completely terrified that they won’t find anything and I will just be left to live in this constant pain and feeling so unwell.
I’m currently sat in my stockings and gown waiting to go down, they wouldn’t let my partner in so I’m by myself but the surgeon had completely put my mind at ease
They didn’t find endometriosis but they found adhesions that we’re connecting my womb to my bladder and pouch of Douglas they are unsure about why the adhesions were there but are confident my pain should stop now xx
I had my laproscopy a week ago, they never found endo only a small fibroid. Now my Gp referred me to another department as all mt symptoms fit diagnosis for fibromalagia-Chronic fatigue syndrome. As in his words running out of options as to what is causing the pain.Hope your op goes well
I have my laparoscopy booked for 24 October and reading this thread has really helped! I'm also terrified they won't find anything and it's back to square one.
I hope today went well for you and please do update us when you can 😊 x
It was no where near as bad as I thought it would be the nurses put me so at ease, they didn’t allow my partner in but they spent extra time with me making sure I was comfortable as they knew I was nervous. I can’t thank the staff enough for making me feel so comfortable
There was no endometriosis found but they found multiple adhesions that we’re attaching me womb to my bladder and pouch of Douglas, (they are unsure as to why I had adhesions) but they are confident that this was the cause of the pain. I am glad that a cause was found and treated.
Even if it isn’t endometriosis hopefully they will find the cause like they did me
