Hey, I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping someone could help.
I had my laparoscopy yesterday and I am in sooo much pain today. Roughly how long does it take for the pain to go and to feel better again? I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries and endometriosis on the back of my uterus.. unfortunately they were unable to remove it there and then because it was so tricky getting to it. It's all a lot to take in and now I am waiting on my next appointment with my gynaecologist to look at the photos and discuss the next steps!

Hi. The first two days after surgery I didn't feel great. The gas pain was the worse for me. I made sure i was drinking peppermint tea to ease that. Rest up, walk around the house as much as possible but don't over do it, take pain relief, and most of all, take time to heal and recover.
Gas pain was also the worst for me. I felt a lot better after the first day but I ended up going to the GP anyway because I was only discharged with ibuprofen which wasn't really enough. So I was given tramadol which I only needed to take for about 2 days and then I returned to ibuprofen. After a week I was mostly fine.
Hey, I had endometriosis as the back of my uterus and on my right ovary. I also have polycystic ovaries. Lucky for me they dealt with it in one op. I'm sorry your in pain, I didn't feel much pain after although I had discomfort in my chest, hurt a bit moving in the wrong position but otherwise I was up and going after a week. Three weeks I was in my excercise class again.
It really depends on where the surgery was done on you, where the cuts are and your pain threshold. I'd say having endometriosis gives you a good threshold.
I had stage 3 endo, pretty bad and I'd have never known how bad it was from the level of pain I had. I had cramping but it wasn't unbearable but we are all different in the way it affects us.
P.s don't get your stitches wet for least 48 hours from your surgery.
I had pain for 3 days. Peppermint tea or capsules for the wind in chest.cocodamol for the pain and naproxen but make sure u keep ur bowels regular ie a laxative or something...
Im 7 weeks post op, i started to feel better after about 3 weeks.. my stitches came out after 7 weeks the belly button one took ages.
Just take care of urself , b kind, relax, get some boxsets in and chill and use a hot water bottle and sleep and eat well...
Thanks soooo much girls! I will make sure I'm relaxing, think I'm trying to do way to much already and it's only been 2 days. I was shocked about the amount of pain I am in as I didn't think it would be this bad but I'm sure I will be okay in a few more days. When did you find out what endo stage you were at? They only mentioned a few things when I woke up, so im still a bit in the dark as to how bad my ovaries and endo is..
I also had a lap for the second time yesterday for endo excision and I'm very sore. I agree with the others the gas pain is almost worse than anything else. Had a very sleepless night with my shoulder.
Last time it look a good 2 weeks to start feeling any better. Use a hot water bottle for the gas pain and try to walk around a little, stops you seazing up altogether.
