biopsys, plus they put the mirena coil in. Every since then, I've had bad period pain every other day, and spotting, where as I used to have sevear pain once a month for 2 days, now I have it all of the time! Does anyone else have this since having the coil? I am not sure if it is that that is causing this. I haven't had the results back from my biopsys yet and they said this would take a month, but this is worrying me as I've just had an op for thyroid cancer too, plus I have addisons already as well. Im only 38.

It's early days for you coil it takes about 3 months for it to get working . My first one was sore for a while ...but it may also be the pain from the rest of your op. Bear with it I found it brilliant . Good luck x

I had my last lap on 21st Nov (sounds like pretty much the same as you in what they did and found) and I had the mirena coil fitted. I was ok for a week but then terrible period pain started. I expected it to be much easier and was concerned so I went back to see my consultant who said it was normal to have worse period pain after the op as 'everything had been stirred up'. I bled on and off until my next period (which was a bit easier) and it has been on and off until about two weeks ago, though I think my next period is also due so Im going to see what happens with this one. The things is its quite hard to know when my period is due as I am bleeding and having period type pains throughout the month anyway.

The pain from the coil came on about a month after the op for me but I can tell the difference between the period pain and the coil pain (the coil pain is just up from my pubic bone if that makes sense) so its in a different place to where I get the period pains. My consultant said it can take up to 9 months for the coil to settle and I know some people don't get on with it but I am going to stick with it and see how I get on as Ive tried the pill and zoladex twice so am running out of things to try. From what I have experienced and my consultant said, the spotting and pain you are experiencing is normal so hope that helps. I hope your results come back ok, maybe with your medical history your GP could chase up the biopsy reports for you its probably just admin that delays the response coming back to you so your GP could find out if the results are actually there (it just hasnt been communicated to you yet). I am due to see my consultant again at the end of the month so if you want me to let you know what she said or I can help further please feel free to email me. I hope it all works out ok for you. Take care . x
