Hi Kay,

Hope your well.

I started with the same syptoms just after my second injection of prostap, I got the hrt tablets to help. They havent really helped with the hot flushes or night sweats but it has helped a hell of a lot with my mood swings. I too was finding it difficult to cope with my boyfriend and we was arguing a lot and I even started shouting at my children for hardly any reason at all which scared them and scared me a lot so I tried the hrt tablets and they calmed me right down, Im back to my normal self with my emotions and im not shouting at my children and me and my boyfriend are back to normal, we still have the odd argument but just over normal stuff like everyone else.

Hope this helps you xx

Thanks for ur reply. Yep, I'm snapping @ my work colleagues and then my boyfriend isn't coping as he keeps thinking he is doing something wrong, which makes me get more upset! :( I wasn't even offered the hrt. Each time I went back to get my injection, I explained how difficult I was coping but they said I shud just continue with the treatment. Xx

Hi Kim this happened to me, it's a wonder me and my husband didn't split up. I was always shouting at the kids and work was worse I couldn't think straight like there was fog in my head. I started with panic attacks and depression. I went back countless times to the hospital describing my symptoms and no one even mentioned HRT so I ended up coming of it. I wasn't even told about side effects or given a leaflet to explain, I was just told my body would go through temporary menopause, the next week I was having monthly injections. What makes me laugh is I've started having problems again and the gyne already had made a plan for me to start prostap again, I certainly told her where to go x x

I'm shocked that you weren't offered HRT should be prescribed along side the treatment plsn for prostap - I was on prostap last year and it helped very much xx

Nope. Not at all. Wudntbeing on hrt reduce the effect of the prostap? Isn't tht just another hormone?

X

Iv been on prostap now for 4 months and HRT for 3 months and its not effected me, but everyone is different. Since starting prostap I noticed a huge difference after my 2nd injection and I was able to start a new job, I also started the HRT after the 2nd injection because the side affects were getting so bad, but since being on both of them I feel like me again and I feel great, im just dreading when the injections stop, I had a 3month injection in December and thats due to ware off the begining of March.

I had to ask my consultant for the HRT as my own GP wouldnt perscribe it as the hospital hadnt wrote to them to say HRT was option if I needed it, so you could try going to your GP to see if they will perscibe it but if not the next time you go for your injection ask for it or if you can get an appointment with sooner.

Good luck xx
