Hello

I am going through hot flashes which I believe are part of the peri-menopause. Anything brings it on, heat, hot drink, alcohol ...... lots of things.

I will watch your post as I don’t have any suggestions apart from buying yourself a fan! But using it in public is embarrassing.

I feel for you as I am in the same boat x

Thank you so much will try both options xx

I’m 27 and I have been having hot flushes for the last 4 years now, to the point where I’m wet I just try to block it out as much as I can and all I would say is when your having one try and distract yourself as much as you can x

Don’t worry your not alone! They are the worse it’s got the point whenever I’m in a relationship I can’t even sleep in the same bed as them because I’m just dripping with sweat 😬 xx

I really suffer with night sweats! I find the best thing is to use talc powder before I go to bed. Try the conti patches they have really reduced the night sweats for me.

I’m only 19 and I’ve been suffering hot flushes since March and I’m not peri menopausal. I always have a flushed face and get all clammy and I’m always hot at night trying to sleep. I’d be interested to know what people suggest. I phoned 111 up to get some advice and they said take a layer of clothes off but I can’t exactly do that at work 😂. Try and keep hydrated and take yourself off somewhere to cool off. I struggle cuddling with my boyfriend because I get too hot and irritable it can be very annoying to manage 😬

Oh dear that’s not very handy advice is it 😂

Yeah that’s what I’m trying to do drink plenty. It’s awful having a flushed face makes me feel I constantly have a temp which I don’t.

Hopefully we will find some reasons why or what to do 😁

Yeah having a flushed face makes me feel I have to wear make up! I found things have helped since I don’t drink coffee anymore and try to cut down on alcohol. Try showers and baths. Running cold tap on hands (I do this at work). I splash water on the back of my neck and chest. Keep hydrated. Find a cool room or go outside. Hope that helps 😊

Hi the left side of my face gets very hot while the rest of me can be cold. Had this for 7 years so far and only just peri menopausal. I use a small spray bottle of water. Spray some on my neck and face. Try a paper/embroidery fan as more environmentally friendly than a battery fan. I use a progesterone only cream as can’t take hormones.

Aloe Vera gel can be cooling and soothing. For me my face often swells up too so I look like a red hamster. Drink plenty of fluids. Look into sage tablets I take high strength and they help a little. Also ashwagandha and black cohosh may help. I avoid soy too.

I have exactly the same issues I’m either hot and sweaty or freezing cold. Never comfortable. I have stage 4 endometriosis and have always suffered with sweat. Apparently it’s due to hormone imbalance.

I’ve found sage tablets help a bit, and driclor deodorant although is meant for under arms it seemed to help whole body some how. And try to only wear 100% cotton clothing.

Best wishes to you xxx

Thank you for ur reply 😊 seems a lot of us are struggling with the same issue.

I am on the coil so was wondering whether tht along with the endo was the reason. I am having surgery soon hoping it’ll go then but I’m pretty sure I won’t be tht lucky 😞 xx

Ah that’s interesting as I have the mirena coil too and wonder now if that might make things worse.

Has the coil not helped you either? It reduced my bleeding but done little for the pain.

Good luck with your surgery. I’ve had 4 and some have been worth it just for a bit of relief afterwards before it returns. Such a horrible disease. xxx

I’m the opposite it’s made my pain a tiny bit more bearable but made my periods last like 2 weeks 😭 where as before I didn’t really have one at all. Maybe two days of bleeding.

I didn’t even no what endo was till I was told I had it. It’s awful. Wouldn’t wish it upon anybody. Xx
