Just when you think you're ok.........

just sounding off really - it's been about 12 days since my period finished, and it's been quite a good 12 days, i've felt quite well, usually even when not on my period i have the gnawing, tugging pain in my lower left pelvis, but it's been much milder so i've been able to do so much more......and you know when you start to feel well you maybe start telling yourself that maybe whatever is going on in there has gone, its cured (i'm not diagnosed with endo or anything yet, just suspected endo) but yesterday it all came back, with avengence it seems, just to remind me 'haha no i'm still here' - so i'm now looking forward to 12-14 days of period, that seems the pattern of the last 3 months, 10-14 days on, and the same off, with spotting when off, and this is with the mirena coil in, i can't imagine how i would be if i didn't have it in - i have a gynae appointment on 22nd August, my gp has asked them to remove the coil and consider endometrial ablation, she said it won't help with pain but should stop the bleeding, i'm hoping they will see my efforts on my weight loss and start taking me serious for my lap too, but i won't bank on it - any advice on endometrial ablation would be appreciated - thanks guys, hope you are having as good a day as possible xxx

Sorry you're having a rough time, and good luck for the appointment in August. Hope the good days come back soon!

Hi there.

I had endometrial ablation in November, and it was the best thing I've ever done! Although it didn't get rid of the endo pain (back pain mostly), I have NO cramping at all (before I wouldn't even be able to stand up), more or less no bleeding and it allowed me to carry on a normal life (until the endo reared its head, but that's another matter).

I would totally recommend it to anyone who doesn't want children.

Recovery was a piece of cake, I had a couple of days of crampy pain and a tiny bit of bleeding.

I do hope you get the answers you are looking for.

Hugs,

Nicky

thanks guys, sometimes you just need to say it, and coming on here is a good way of saying it, as i rarely say anything to my hubby or family, he knows when i'm feeling rough though - i'm done with children, mine are teens, have heard only positive feedback for the ablation so far, i just hope the consultant will agree to it, and yes my gp said it will only sort the bleeding side of things, it won't help with the pain, but to just be able to deal with the bleeding side of things will be a huge help - will update when i know - take care everyone xx
