I have all the symptoms of endo but not diagnosed, waiting for a laparoscopy in a few months. Currently on prostap which isn't working yet (2nd injection next week). Willing to try anything so I can get back into work. Thanks

I tried acupuncture in London (very nice lady called Camilla Festing who you can probably find on the internet). I found it was pretty good for managing my fatigue and some of the pain, but not all of it. I also found it was not uncomfortable having the acupuncture, and overall was pretty relaxing. I was working at the time, so not as bad as you by the sound of things, but I'd say it's worth a try. Good luck!

Hi ladybird

I havent tried acupuncture myself but know a friend & fellow endo sufferer has tried it with good effect and pleasing results. We are both in the North of England so some distance away but if you try doing a search on the website of the British Acupuncture Council you will hopefully find a more local therapist to you.

Hope this helps

Hi there

I am doing acupuncture twice a week in London in a place called Herbal World in Wimbledon which is opposite the theatre just a 5 min walk from the train and tube station. I see Dr Sophie and she has me on a 3 month programme to heal this which also includese taking herbs.

In traditional Chinese Medicne terms, endo is caused by a combo of Damp conditions (which the dairy free and wheat free diet eliminates by the way so after 7 months of no dairy and no wheat in my diet, I have hugely improved symptoms and I am told I don't have a lot of damp by Chinese Medicne terms.

They also attribute the cause of endo to a weak Kidney meridian. you need to be diagnosed by a qualified Chinese doctor to know how your kidney meridian needs help. interestingly, in Chinese terms, when the kidney meridian is weak it affects reproductive organs and you also get weak legs (thigh pain many endo sufferers talk of) and sore lower back, andexperience chills and fatique....so when I was diagnosed and I researched the symptoms of a weak kidney meridian (for me I am deficient Yin in my kidney meridian / organs).

it all made sense to me and if this isn't healed you cannot heal the endo.

So I think using Chinese acupuncture and herbs is defo a way to heal endo. I am doing it 1 month and will let you know by end of month 3 if it has worked bu I also have done the endo diet for 6 months pre doing he endo.

I do not take ANY pain medication and I do not take ANY hormones or drugs as I am trying to get preggers and once I finish this 3 month acupuncture programme I will go for it! I have had endo for 12 years and it chronic but compared to most women on this site my symptoms are minor and now have hugely improved.

I also heard of a Chinese doctor on hArley street in cental london called Dr Zhai but I have not been to her. I would urge you to go to Chinese doctors for their Medicne even thought you can find westerners trained in it.

Hope this helps

Hiya

I had acupuncture for a while and to be honest apart from giving me a buzzy light headed drunk feeling, it didn't help and actually made the pain worse as it seemed to provoke the pain and nerves.

It really depends how much pain you're in and the nature of the pain.

I have pain going down my legs and this is what was made worse with acupuncture.

I am just telling you this as i would hate for you to have the same reaction to it that i did. Many women find it really helpful and relaxing and it does work for a lot, i was just unlucky maybe?!

different things work for different people. Maybe just try a few - even one - session and see how you feel, not just at the time but in the days following.

I hope you're feeling better and hope i haven't been negative, i just think it's important to have a balanced response and to hear all reactions!!!!

Lots of love

Thank you, really appreciate your reply. I get pain pretty constantly and in my legs & back, some days it gets really bad so I have to take very strong pain relief.

I will ask my GP as soon as I'm back home, am staying with my parents for time being as I broke my leg (falling down stairs on morphine!) - am slowly walking now so it shouldn't be too long. I need to try something that doesn't make me drowsy like all the pain killers I have, otherwise my flat is too dangerous to live in! don't need another broken leg! Hopefully I can get acupuncture on nhs. Thank you! xxx
