Has anyone tried yoga?

Apparently yoga is supposed to be really helpful to relieve endometriosis pain. Has anyone tried it out? I think I am going to go to a class next week.

Yes yes yes!! It has been great for me, I also have a panic disorder so it works great for that too! If you really throw yourself into the meditation and breathing techniques it really is amazing!

Anything is worth a try as far as I am concerned and if it works for you even better!

Good luck! :)

I am about to do the same thing! Starting Saturday. Hope it works! I've heard only good things for endo ladies doing yoga.

Hi I started Ashtanga yoga 6 months post lap. Really enjoying it although some classes I have no strength, usually when I'm knackered but just do what I can x

Yoga is great, but you might have bad luck with teachers, so don't be afraid to shop around a bit if it's an option - don't know how many affordable courses are available in your area. I have had a good experience with almost everywhere I went, only this "yoga in daily life" programme seemed too focused on performance. With certain endo symptoms you might need some slack in some positions so it's good to have a supportive teacher. Some teachers even encourage people in their class to tell them about possible health problems so that they can suggest some tips and tricks or warn you about positions to avoid. I have hip pain and my bladder feels often full and swollen so any position lying on my stomach is painful, and I have a wrist problem from work. I told my teacher about my restrictions and if there's a position I can't do, she gives me an alternative position to do instead. So yeah I think yoga is definitely great for women with endo, physically and also the non-competitive atmosphere that won't make you feel like a loser if you sometimes struggle.

I have just brought some DVDs that are yoga and Pilates so hoping to start them when I get some energy totally drained at mo but I always do a few stretches each day . I would also be interested to hear if anyone finds it helpful. X
