Skin sensitivity, is it linked to endometriosis?

I'm wondering if anyone else has a similar experience. I have stage 4 endometriosis the past few weeks I've had a really sensitive skin on a particular area above my hip, it's constantly painful but there is nothing on the skin and it feels tender if I press the press the area but it's more of a skin pain than anything else. It may not be related at all but there seems to be so much that's linked to endometriosis I thought it might be worth asking if anyone else has experienced it.

What an interesting post as this is something I experience quite a lot on my legs which I never pinpointed to being linked to my endo. It's called Allodynia and can be caused by lots if things.

Quick Google search suggests that this is actually something which can be more prevalent in people with Endo! Here's a snippet from what I found:

"Allodynia, where normally non-painful stimuli are perceived as painful, is frequently observed in women with endometriosis. This sensation is often associated with central sensitization, a phenomenon where the nervous system becomes overly sensitive to pain signals. Endometriosis can trigger this sensitization through persistent pain signals from endometriotic lesions, leading to heightened sensitivity to touch and other stimuli."

It'd pretty amazing (and frustrating!) how much and in how many ways endo can cause different symptoms in our bodies.

Hi! I have it, i.e. both endo and sensitive skin on my hips, too! Being in perimenopausal hell, it has never occurred to me to think of it as endo related. Very useful this forum is.For me, skin sensitivity comes and goes. Months can pass without it and then it returns for a few days.

Allodynia can also be a part of perimenopause.

I found that hydrocortisone cream, the one sold over the counter, for insect bites, etc, helps to calm the skin down.
