endometriosis & pregnancy

Hi all,

I would like to get some advice from someone who was in the same situation as me.

I had two laparoscopic surgeries, last one 2 years ago with taking 95% of endometrium out & clearing my fallopian tubes. Since then I’m on Mirena Coil but started talking with my partner about the pregnancy.

And that’s the question… what to do? Obviously to conceive I need to take the coil out, but without it my endometriosis will come back (I’m aware that trying for a baby might take a year or so). I really don’t want to have another surgery in next few years if falling pregnant will be challenging and take long time.

Any ideas on what to do? ;((

Hi there I can only go off my experience and what was told to me. I have never had the mirena coil, I myself have also had two surgeries for endometriosis. It was explained to me that the symptoms and endometriosis itself never goes away does it make it a challenge to conceive absolutely, but I say if you want it go for it. I am mum to a 5 year old daughter who I was told I would not conceive naturally. I found out I was pregnant with her when I was supposed to be getting ready for surgery number 3. I am trying again as she wants a sibling, not sure what will happen but I believe as long as there is hope anything is possible. Good luck with your journey I wish you all the best

Hiya,

I went on an anti inflammatory diet to help me get pregnant. It was hard work but my symptoms hugely decreased which meant whilst I was trying to conceive I wasn’t plagued with all the normal pain which made it possible for me not to have the coil.

The diet is hard work but honestly the difference I saw was absolutely phenomenal. Here is the book if you are interested - awesomebooks.com/book/97807...

Also, I had a lot of pain with sex so I used the clear blue fertility sticks to help ensure we were having sex at the right time and avoid unnecessary pain.

Wishing you all the luck in the world on your journey. X

Eerybody is so different it’s really hard to answer. I have stage four and only got a diagnosis via laparoscopy and he just unstuck my ovaries and that was it. Got the mirena coil for a year before we started trying. Took us 4 months. Got no symptoms during pregnancy and now i breastfeed and she’s 8 weeks. i just started the progesterone only pill and really hope I won’t suffer too much with it. Didn’t want the coil bcs would like to try for a second one in a year or so hoping it will work again.

I know people who are also stage 4 and have tried many years without success. Or have very painful pregnancy.

Endometriosis is unique to everyone that’s the annoying thing you really don’t how it’s going to be for yourself

All the best
