Really down today with all my woman troubles as mum calls it lol!i had a misscarrige almost 5 week ago and just can’t see a light at the end of the tunnel I have children I’m grateful for that but I’ve only just been told recently I might have endometriosis and don’t know what to do for best docs have said a lap maybe but where does that leave me and my fertility?im so worried I might not have any kids I’m thinking there’s hope because I obviously conceived got to 12.5 week but what if I misscarry again do I need a lap I don’t know so scared to have one I changed my diet what’s helping but some doctors have not been helpful what would you do in this situation my pain has lessened since my misscarrige but I’m so stressed not knowing if I’ll have a baby in end

I was scared about the laparoscopy too but I was told this was the only way to improve my chances of conception. The surgeon was great and we agreed he would only perform surgery where it would improve my chances of conceiving. The best thing to do is go to an endometriosis specialist centre and speak to the experts. They will be able to advise you and give you confidence if it is the right thing for you and your situation.

Endometriosis: A Key to Healing And Fertility Through Nutrition by Dian S Mills and Michael Vernon is a great source of information and guidance, it explains endometriosis, talks about foods and life changes as well as supplements that can help, including fertility.
Did you have any misscarriges before conceiveing
May I ask what Endometriosis Clinic did you go? I went to one and had the same questions as Afrohair but the doctor was rude and sent me back to my gp to investigate my fertility and of course my gp just did a new referral to gynaecology at the same hospital.
Hi Afrohair. Sorry to hear you had a miscarriage. But did you say you have children already? I can understand how you feel but a laparoscopy even if not at an endometriosis specialist will see the possible problems you do or don't have. I have endometriosis and tried to conceive for 2years until I needed laparoscopy for pain and to find out why I couldn't fall pregnant. Then my endometriosis was diagnosed but I fell pregnant afterwards. I was lucky that time the pregnancy was a success. The second time I had laparoscopy and fell it wasn't and I never fell pregnant again. But that's my journey and not the same for all. Good luck to you. I have stage 4 recto vaginal, deep infiltrating endo. My surgeon is confident she can remove the endo and give me a chance of getting pregnant naturally x I have no kids yet.
I met a lady recently, also with stage 4 who had her laparoscopy to remove said endo and decided to have a break before trying for a baby. She got pregnant on her first month after her op xx
There are lots of horrible stories out there, however you can only control certain things.
Make sure you have a good surgeon. At a BSGE centre. (Not all gyneas are good with endo)

Research who is an endo specailist x lots of bupa specialists work for the nhs too, mine does. I paid for a private consultation and then got her to refer me back to the nhs xx good luck x
I’ve got a gynaecologist appointment in December hopefully I’ll get some answers there or can ask for a referral good luck to you too on ttc how long have you been trying so far x
If you know the name of the consultant, google them, may come up with what they specailise in. Not all gyneas are good with endo 😪 but if you do find a good one locally online you can ask your GP to refer you x

So sorry to hear about your miscarriage and that you might have endo.
I’ve always wanted kids and when I found out I had endo just as we were ready to start trying it really hit me hard.
My gynae was really supportive and assured me I’d be at my most fertile after a laparoscopy which I had last December...the endo was so bad that they couldn’t remove it all and I’d need further surgery if the pain returned.
Months went by and nothing happened apart from the pain coming back. We got referred to a fertility clinic and it turned out I had developed a blocked tube which was most likely the reason why we hadn’t conceived yet and I needed surgery to remove it/clear the rest of the endo before trying IVF. The first laparoscopy had only reduced my left ovary egg count by a little, the rest was unaffected.
A few weeks later I conceived naturally. It’s still early days but we’re hoping for the best and trying to stay positive. If anything does happen to the pregnancy, I will definitely be going for the additional surgery to try and sort my body out a bit before trying again.
But I was at rock bottom thinking I would never be able to have children and then out of nowhere I fell pregnant. Endo doesn’t mean the end of your fertility, it just might make it harder 🙂 My sister also has it and she conceived naturally just a few months after trying.
Have you been referred to a gynaecologist yet? Being able to speak to a specialist might help weigh up all of the options and risks and how best to approach it. I didn’t really know anything until i spoke to my gynae and all I read online was sad stories and worst case scenarios.

Hello thankyou for your reply it’s nice to here everything went well for you I’m almost positive it’s occurred after a previous c section I’ve been referred to a gynaecologist but after looking online I don’t think she is a specialist in this case but hopefully I’ll get some answers some of the pain has gone since misscarrige but I have a lump what’s been there since my daughter I’m almost sure it’s endo so want to go back to my gp to investigate it’s really taking over my life this though and I don’t feel like I can move on till I’ve had my baby I got to 13 weeks just past the cut off before I lost my baby
Did you not have the surgery for the blocked tube in the end then?
Even if she’ll be able to discuss what it could be and your options moving forward, it’s a step in the right direction. And if she agrees it’s endometriosis maybe you could request to be referred to a specialist?
It’s a tough time not knowing and having to wait for appointments and referrals. I really hope you can get an answer soon.
And no I didn’t. We still haven’t received the referral letter or been able to get through to my consultant to tell him the news.
That sounds positive but this is the thing how can I have faith with people who really don’t have any answers.you may have conceived from the other side but you will never know that people get told they can’t conceive then have healthy pregnancies i hope all goes well for you I wish you all the best and success. I’m almost sure I have it because my symptoms went when I was pregnant for 3 months and I had the blood clots and pain in my pelvis I still have pain but it’s calmed a bit since my pregnancy I’ve been told I have a cyst but not what kind
