Hello, So I am 27 yrs old & have had two laparoscopies in the past 4 years, I have been married 2 years & haven’t use any kind of protection & I’m still not pregnant, I was wondering if that may be the endometriosis I was diagnosed with since I always feel my abdomen sore & pain at times so I don’t know if the endometriosis can be the reason why I can’t be pregnant after 2 yrs? Any comment will be greatly appreciate it!

Sorry to hear of your struggle.

For my husband & I endometriosis was the only cause of our infertility. ( I have a grown up son from a previous relationship) It took us 5 years & 10 months of trying for a baby to eventually get diagnosed with endometriosis. We had a chemical pregnancy after my first laparoscopy. After my third laparoscopy I conceived our nearly 14 month old daughter ( after trying for 7 years) we tried again after having her & after 2 months we found out we are expecting another baby due April ( very early days) All our other fertility tests/investigations came back normal! I would definitely recommend having the endo looked into to be sure it’s not affecting your fertility. It doesn’t always depends on severity or location . Mine grew pouch of Douglas, uteroscaral ligaments & rectum ( and made my uterus lining a hostile environment for an embryo to grow) wishing you the best xxx

Hi,

Endometriosis has been a contributing factor for my infertility. Laproscopy and dye test showed that my fallopian tubes are blocked therefore conception is near impossible without further surgery which will likely result in the removal of my tubes. IVF will likely be my only option.

I would recommend that you seek fertility advice so that you can have the necessary tests to understand your own struggles. My partner also underwent tests in which showed that he has complications. Best to get both of you checked out in my opinion.

I wish you all the very best.

Hi ,

I was the same age as yourself when I had my second lap and had been trying to get pregnant for over 2 years at that point. My endo was stage 4 and covering the ovaries, ligaments, pouch of Douglas and the rectum. I was advised that if I didn’t conceive by my 6 month review I would be for ivf.

Four months after the lap and dye I found out I was expecting and due to nhs waiting times I walked in to my review 30 weeks pregnant but I believe without the right surgeon I would never have had my now 5 year old. I am currently awaiting my 3rd lap to see if another miracle can happen.

Plus we have male factor fertility issues as well.

Good luck

Sorry to jump on the post, but this has gave me a glimmer of hope, we have been trying for 3 years, endo for me and my husband has issues too, we’ve been advised by my fertility doctor to have a removal of cysts & dye then IVF I’m hoping this could be the case for me to x

Yes it did just happen but you also need to give your body time to heal. Also you may need to look at male factor fertility issues as without a semen analysis you will never know. We were very lucky for it to happen so quickly after the surgery.

Hi I’m in a similar position, suspected endo and currently ttc but no luck. We spoke to our GP at the 6 month mark and they referred us for all the tests and we are coming back “Good” but she’s referred us to the clinic as the pain I get is so intense after ovulation that they want a specialist to see what’s happening. We are on the wait list but been told it’s very long.

I know this is a curve ball but have you considered acupuncture? It’s a nice way to get things moving whilst you wait to see a specialist. Also, I really like working with a holistic acupuncturist who can help me understand what’s going on in my body.

Anyway, I just wanted to say I know how much it sucks to be Ttc and not getting what you’re wanting. Sending you a big hug and wishing you all the best xx

My mother had no symptoms of endo until she had trouble TTC with my younger brother (8 years between us). She had a lap to see if there was anything that could be giving her trouble and they found endo everywhere. They removed it and she fell pregnant a few months later. Then accidentally had my other brother a few years after that!

Hi, my husband and I tried for a yr to get pregnant. I was forced to get investigations because I was in so much pain with my cycle. We eventually found out 18months later that the endo they found at my diagnostic was causing my uterus to be a hostile environment. At present I don’t have my happy ending but I am only 3 1/2 months post surgery. So it’s the first proper month we have tried. I am still hopeful. If we get to about 6 Months and still no luck then we will probably look into IVF but I would definitely get checked out. The 4yrs we have been trying have been the most testing time especially with ppl

Trying to be supportive but not realising they aren’t being you know they mean well but it still doesn’t change how you feel.

I wish you lots of luck any questions I’m happy to try and help

Kelly xx
