I’ve had my endometriosis surgically removed last year in June and had the coil fitted then.
everything has been fine so far but has taken a while for my body to settle down with everything especially with my hormones from being on zodalex for six months and then had the mirena coil fitted in afterwards.
Apologies for too much info, but It’s taken a while me and my partner to properly get back into being intimate as I’ve been scared doing it cause of the pain I was in before. We have been more sexually active recently and I haven’t been in pain straight afterwards which is great, however I seem to end up bleeding and get a pink/red/brown discharge and feel pain on my left side and pain like I’m on my period, but I am not as it’s not my time to be on, and I’m not properly bleeding as it only shows in my discharge.
I just want to know if this is common side effect with the coil or should I be concerned about it?

Wow, you're describing my symptoms exactly. I'm just starting my journey getting it checked out but as I've had endo diagnosed and surgically removed in 2019 I'm pretty confident this is endo again.
Firstly, book an urgent doctors appointment because the very worst case is that bleeding after sex is a symptom of something more serious. I am on an urgent referral for a gynae now because of that.
Hope it goes OK, try not to worry but also do not delay getting this checked out.
Heya, would definitely recommend just getting checked out. I had a merina coil that moved in my womb and caused more pain and spotting daily for 2/3 months. It may not be this!! But def worth just ruling it out and hope you feel better soon.
My body decided to eventually expel it which wasn’t pleasant.. ultimately it didn’t work for me. And now I realised talking with a doctor too that I should have got it checked when I started spotting daily and had more pain.
After that I didn’t want to try another one again. I’m afraid it put me off. I think it’s often a real 50/50 for ladies - for some it’s a dream that is super successful and for others it just doesn’t work at all.
Aww I am so sorry that you are going through the same thing as well atm and now you are on an urgent referral to see the gyno, hopefully you will get seen soon to get it checked out and hope it all goes ok and nothing serious for you ❤️.
Yeah I’m hoping it’s not my endo coming back as I only had it removed last year in June and wasn’t too sure if it would come back so quickly afterwards, but it was mostly my left ovary that was affected, as I had a big cyst there.
I am definitely going to take your advice on it though and get this seen again as like you said I don’t want to delay this and it possibly getting worse again.
