Ovary stuck to the back of my womb

Hi, I've been having trouble with my periods for a long time but more so the past 3 years. I have had polyps removed around 4 years ago which made my periods normal.

But the past 2 years my ovaries are really painful, id have more than one period a month, and longer periods, the worse back pain.

I had an ultra sound a year ago and nothing appeared and got pushed urgent to the gynecologist by the doctors because of the pain I was in.

A year went by and i had my gyno app. They basically said I need to go on contraception which I've had bad experiences in the past.I feel like i was on the waiting list for over a year to be told to go on contraception.

I was advised by the gynecologist to go for another ultrasound in case there has been any changes since last years, and they said everything looks fine but one of your ovaries are stuck to the back of the womb which could be endometriosis. I've never been told this before on an ultrasound.

I received a letter from the gyno saying about the scan and said to go on contraception for 6 months. But i don't see how this unsticks my ovary?

I booked another app with my gp to discuss what's next . He basically said there's nothing wrong with me and the gyno said everything is okay. But I know they're not?? The doctor has prescribed me with tablets to make my periods lighter which I've had 2 years ago. I also asked if I'm able to have baby's and he said I should be able to which isn't really the answer I was looking for because he didn't seem sure.

I feel like everything is a temporary fix.

Can someone give me advice as I don't think I'm being taken seriously. I Am nearly 29 and will be wanting to have children in the next couple of years

Thanks x

I’m sorry you are having g a rough time.

Form my understanding, any one with endo is offered contraception particularly a coil to help symptoms. My understanding is it shrinks endo or at least controls its growth.

My story is similar to yours. For years I had issues, even the radiologist couldn’t believe that no interventions were happening. Eventually, I managed to get heard and requested a MRI (this was after several A&E visits).

Gyne still out concerned so I paid to go to a private Gyne consultation; she read the report and diagnosed stage 4 endo and wrote a referral to a specialist endo centre. It was the best £200 I’ve ever spent.

By time I got seen, so many pelvic bits were fused together that I needed a total hysterectomy and bowl shaving. I had cysts and fibroids embedded all around me!

They have now all been removed.

If you think something is wrong trust your gut until you know 100% that you are wrong.

Good luck with everything 🍀

I had the same experience. I ended up having a total hysterectomy with 3 fibroids, 2 very large Endo cysts and lots of smaller ones. My womb was stuck to my bowel and had dropped on one side. One ovary was being chocked by endo tissue. I had endo on my sciatica nerve too. I would suggest asking for an mri and get them to sort it out before it progresses. I went 14 years without diagnosis and a further almost 3 years from then to having 8 hours of surgery 8 months ago. I feel so much better and do not regret having surgery for one second. I hope it all goes well x
