Ovary stuck to uterus?

So whilst having an ultrasound, I was told that my left ovary is stuck to my uterus. I’m not surprised as I’ve been getting pains there. However the lady who was scanning me told me this is normal for people with endo and that nothing would be done about it? The pain is getting worse as time goes on and I’m wondering what my gynaecologist would actually suggest? I have to wait till March to see her.

Has anyone had similar issues?

Yes my ultrasound found the same. I'm no expert but I think sticking of organs is for more advanced endometriosis. After my ultrasound I was given a laparoscopy (I was found to have severe) and tissue removed etc. If you are in the UK I would also say keep calling to see if you can get a cancellation for your consultant. I was really lucky when I called and got my appointment moved forward 6 weeks as someone had cancelled theirs. X

My left ovary and fallopian tube is stuck to my pelvic wall. I've got pain there today. I had an MRI yesterday for a separate issue (my heart) and this seems to have set off the pain, I think perhaps because I have sterilization clips on my fallopian tubes and the vibrations of the MRI machine may have aggrevated the adhesion there? Not sure whether to go to the doctor about it, as like you say, it's normal for endo to be painful! I think if it goes on and on or gets worse it's worth mentioning (you included).

Yes, the same was found for me. Both ovaries stuck to my uterus.

That is not enough to get a laparoscopy in my country as I don't have any cysts or nodules, but I think it is in the UK.

Also please do not wait until March to see your gynaecologist.

I would suggest seeking an experienced and highly skilled EXCISION surgeon at a great BSGE centre and booking an appointment directly there

Hi, get yourself referred asap. A BSGE specialist will be able to help.

During a lap I was told my fallopion tubes and ovary were stuck to my uterus. As well as all of my endometriosis pain I was experiencing a really uncomfortable pulling sentation on my right side. With all the heavy bleeding and horrendous pain I was in I opted for a hysterectomy and endometriosis removal.

Durning the operation the specialist found everything was worse than expected, everything was just stuck together with endometriosis, it was a big old mess and my appendix was also stuck to the ovary that was stuck to my uterus so that was causing the horrible pain and pulling. They had to quickly find another surgeon during operation to come and get my appendix out.

It was a big thing to go through at the time but 3 years on I have never experienced any pain even 10% of the level it was.

I'm not saying you will have to do all that but you should get it checked out, it's not up to the lady scanning you to tell you that nothing can be done.

When I saw a specialist he could tell more about my insides from just asking questions and examining me then scans I had.

You might decide to do nothing but it's nice to get specialist opinion and have options

Xx

Hi ladies, thank you for all your replies it’s been a stressful few weeks for me with various things and i completely forgot about this post.

I really appreciate all your advice. I was diagnosed around 18 I’m now 27 and I’ve had a lap and diathermy around 2013 to treat the endo they found when they did my first investigatory lap. This pain on my left is getting worse and worse and I get it two weeks before my period so I’m assuming that’s ovulation and then after that too. Periods are more painful now as well. Endo calmed down when I had my first two girls and breastfed them for nearly two years. But it’s been about a year since I stopped and it’s so painful now.

I was just surprised at the lady who scanned me? She said it’s so common they won’t do anything. How do I get referred to a BGCE? I’ve no experience with this at all and would appreciate help .

Thank you xxx

My left ovary was stuck to the wall of my uterus too. I only really had a dull ache but very random excruciating pains in the mid pelvis around 3 times in a year.

I was struggling to conceive and they had seen a cyst which thought was a simple cyst but a fertility consultant scanned me and straight away said it was endo.

Did a laparoscopy to remove the cyst and put a gel around the ovary to stop it sticking again. (To help chances of pregnancy)

They havent mentioned what level of endometriosis I have but imagine its mild with the lack of pain etc. So may not all be too much to worry about. See what they say at your consultant appointment and ask if they will allow a laparoscopy.x
