I’ve had my second prostrap a week ago and am having a horrific period and excruciating pain. I have had them 12 weeks apart and have had no relief to symptoms. I’ve Been advised to try this second dose and if no change then consider zoladex whilst awaiting surgery with colorectal input.
Is it just me? I feel really disappointed.
Struggling with self pity and pain and just wanted to moan to you lot who get it 🙃

For the first few months I bled a lot on zoladex. The 3 month injections only last 8 weeks with me then I bleed. If you are on it for fibroids then it could be the position of the fibroid leading to constant bleeding. I'd request an MRI so that they can tell you the reason before changing you to zoladex. If you've already had that as you're waiting surgery then I'd see if this one gets better. It's awful as we pin so much hope on these injections and they aren't great x
Hi dear, Sorry about your pain.I am also on prostap injection.my first two doses was also like that .I had excruciating pain and bled a lot.i communicated with my consultant and she assured me it was normal. Its your body fighting the hormone.i’m on the 4th dose this month and I can tell you it's gotten better.I no longer experience the excrutiting pain during my period.I’ve not even had my period this month. So I feel it’s working alright. This is just to encourage you.I hope this helps.
Hi have heard that the three month ones can wear off after ten weeks. I'm on monthly pro strap injections and after my fourth or fifth i had three weeks of spotting and lost a large clot on the first day of that, it took three and a half weeks to stop the initial bleeding, but I've had no issues with it otherwise. And i was having horrendous bleeding before i went on it, so perhaps the monthly one might be a better option for you. So sorry you're suffering so badly, sending you a big safe hug x 🤗
hi lovely! I have just recently had a hysterectomy for a uterus prolapse and collapsed wall (that needed repairing) I also had a laproscopy last year, looking for endo but didn’t find it 🙄been struggling for many yrs all endo symptoms. I had to have the prostap injections before my surgeries and I found them horrific! The pain they gave me for the 1st 2 weeks each needle each time was so bad in my stomach area and an uncontrollable temperature 🤒 but I did then have no pain for the remainder of the medication. It would then wear off a week or so before my next 1. My consultant said this meant I didn’t have endo but I believe it did work as I had some relief, I’m so sorry to hear that you are having a bad time and that you don’t think they are working 😔 I really hope that you find some relief somehow. 🙏🏻 sending you prayers for it and good luck with your surgery x
Hiya, for me Zoladex was a wonder drug. I was on it 2 times for 6 month periods. It stopped the heavy bleeding and excruciating pain I used to suffer with my monthly's. I use to suffer every month with the pain and bleeding. I have now gone through the menopause so the issues have now stopped. I wouldn't hesitate to take Zoladex myself.
Hi I have also been on zoladex for 1 year, just came off it in April to pursue fertility. It helped me to regain my life. I also took ad back hurt patches with it which can help some people with the menopausal symptoms. It stopped my bleeding but also my pain and all other symptoms. Too many to list. Hope that helps.
