Hi all,

I have a 6-7cm endometrioma on my left ovary which I am awaiting surgery for the removal of.

Just wondering if anyone that also has one suffers with back ache in the same side going down the front of your thigh every now and again?

Thanks

Hey, I’ve never had an Endometrioma but the majority of my endo pain is lower back, down legs. It’s absolutely awful! But a very normal symptom for the disease unfortunately x

Is it your left leg? I didn't really experience back pain but my endometrioma on left side pressing on my back nerves caused me serious shooting pains up and down my left thigh. Got bad enough that I had difficulty walking. Had osteopathy but once endometrioma was removed, the pain went too. The inability to walk was how I was finally diagnosed, and even that took over 9 months... I hope you are not waiting too long for an op.

Yeah my left down down the front of my thigh and also an ache sort of feeling where the cyst is and in the left side of my lower back. It’s worse than having sciatica x

that's exactly what it is - like sciatic pain on the other side and has the same cause, something (endometrioma) pressing on your back nerves. Ultimately, only removing it will help. In between, try to do some exercises (gentle stretching helps, if you can) to strengthen your lower back and osteopathy helped for a bit (although I didn't know I had endometriosis when I tried that). Try putting a hot water bottle on your leg and back too. Mine started off as pain every morning in my left side, which went after about 10 minutes and progressed to the stage where moving my left leg was terrible as I felt I had electric currents running up and down it. It got worse as endometrioma grew. Hope you get your operation soon, although while that solved my endometrioma, I still have to deal with the other not so fun parts of having endometriosis!!

Hi, all the best. I had the same my Endometrioma was only 3.5cm, but by the time I had the surgery burst, the pain goes ones the endometriosis and Endometrioma is removed. Stay strong will be all fine xx

Ive got endemeteiomas on both ovaries but i do get alot of really bad lower pain. I was told its probably due to endo the most and its all stuck to my back walls so when it flares up i get terrible pain amd pushes on nerves

I get really bad lower back pain and I've had two or three endometrioma, two were removed in two separate surgeries. I do get leg pain but not often. It's crazy how it can affect random parts of the body!
