Does anyone else use dicotyl/docusate and or mebedeverine for bowel issues? The GP has prescribed them to me and I'm pretty apprehensive about taking more meds on top of the naproxen and omeprazole I'm regularly taking, plus the doxycyclidine and metronidazole antibiotics the hospital sent me home with after the last infection.
I have been getting increasing bowel pain every day now. I have severe endo on ovary, peritoneal wall, pouch of Douglas and adhesion between bowel and uterus as well as possible adenomyosis. I am in a waiting list for full hysterectomy with tubes and ovaries, but still have 2 more years to go.

Hello I take mebeverine for my bowel symptoms which does help, I also take a lot of medication including naproxen and omeprazole like you and it all seems to work well together. Hope it helps you xx
The naproxen is treating the pain, the omeprazole is to protect your stomach while you are taking naproxen. With this amount of pain it might be worth asking your GP to add another pain med. You will probably want to avoid opiate type meds like codeine or tramadol as they can be constipating, there are other different thoes of painkillers though.
My experience with endo on the bowel is that you want to keep things ‘regular’ as having your bowel full at that point pulls on the adhesions. I presume that what the dicotyl/docusate does? Don’t know of that. Mebeverine is more to relax the bowel muscles if you have cramping. Personally I found Buscopan better, but see how you get on.
I appreciate that like most people you don’t want to take a lot of medicines, but it sounds as if your GP is trying to relieve your symptoms as far as possible. I assume you are on the waiting list at a specialist endometriosis centre (BSGE)? They usually also have a pain specialist and it would be worth asking for a referral to them.
