Hi all, sorry if this is tmi but I need any tips with bowel issues. I had my lap surgery in 2012 at that time they found endometriosis on my bowel but didn't touch it because they didn't have a specialist in the surgery and didn't want to risk injuring the bowel. I am currently experiencing a flare up of all endometriosis symptoms and await a further gynaecologist appointment. However I am having horrific time with my bowels. I cannot poo for days, it is so painful to even try and then all of a sudden I will get a sensation and I have to run to the toilet, I will be able to go once and then the cycle starts again. Does anyone have any tips for how I can relieve this, and I am assuming I should mention it to the gynaecologist if and when I ever get an appointment but not sure if they will be able to assist.

Absolutely should mention this to the gynaecologist. This very much sounds like it is due to the endometriosis so possibly even try and get your GP to press for a quicker appointment given the additional symptoms. I don't have experience of this exactly, but I think I am currently getting something similar post surgery. I am finding mild laxatives help me to go
I’m sorry about your symptoms. I definitely think you should mention it to the gynaecologist. I have very similar symptoms and have rectovaginal endometriosis, as well as having endo in other areas . Whilst I wait for further follow up, I take laxido which relieves my pain and difficult going to the toilet most of the time. It’s the only thing I’ve found that helps me as diet and lifestyle etc made no difference for me but other people will hopefully have other experiences. X
I have stage 4 endo that's affected my bowels and pulled my rectum high. I was diagnosed with IBS for 30 years. I could not pass solid stools and the constipation or loose stools was awful. This has gone on for over 20 years. The last 6 months have been amazing as I cut out dairy which has really helped me and I've slowly introduced soaked Chia seeds which I mix with pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and cinnamon, almond milk and kefir and keave to soak over night; it produces a large amount of frog spawn textured tasty sludge which i eat on its own or with fruit. I also eat a full packet of celery every day. This has really helped my gut and bike. It's unbelievable how introducing these three things has transformed my bowels. I'd start off slow as I tried to eat too much chia at first and it made my constipation worse but now my bowels are the best they've ever been in 30 years. I will continue this regime forever as it has been so incredible for me x
I don’t want to scare you, but I think you need to get your GP to write to consultant with to request a quicker appointment. I say this because not sounds like your bowel is being affected. I have this and ended up hospitalised with a bowel obstruction last year. It was pretty scary and I narrowly avoided emergency surgery and a stoma. You need to be careful with laxatives as this could cause damage when blocked. Based on my treatment I am allowed stool softeners only when constipated so things like Laxido are ok but you need to be careful with others. I drink tonnes and tonnes of dilute squash every day and this also helps prevent constipation. I have changed my diet to include more fibre and this also helps a lot when combined with the fluids. My endo has grown into my bowel as well as on top so I need a bowel resection. I hope yours is not this and it is just growing on the top (which is bad enough but easier to treat) this can also cause the problems you are describing. Either way it needs investigation and probably some form of treatment. I was bumbling around clueless, trying to put a brave face on it without realising what was going on inside, please don’t let it get to crisis point like I did. You need and MRI to confirm what is going on with your bowel. Are you under a specialist centre or just your nearest hospital? I had a previous lap too and same as you my surgeon wasn’t qualified to treat much of what she saw. I am now under a specialist centre and about to have robotic surgery with the endo surgeon, colorectal surgeon and a urology surgeon to try and get me sorted. It has taken over 12 months to get to this point from the obstruction, so you will need to be pushy. Good luck and I hope you can get some help with this.

Bile not bike - sorry x
I am 5 weeks post op from full hysterectomy, appe did removal, bowel resection and mass removed from rectum.
I had severe endo and that didn't particularly bother me but the bowels were another story.
I highly recommend looking at your diet. It doesn't make a mild difference, it makes a huge difference. Will it stop the pain until surgery? No but will make it much more comfortable.
You need to be focusing on soluble fibre and vitamins in particular vit c.
Take inulin everyday which is soluble fibre. Eat a kiwi every night for vit c. Remove gluten and sugar, game changer.
If you need anything else let me know xx
I use lactulose and it's been a game changer for me I use the 15ml dose when I need help going but drink plenty of fluids.
