Bowel issues...

Ok so this is quite a embarrassing question but here goes.... does anyone go to the loo for poo and then later on that day notice smearing when wiping?

By this i mean I can go to the toilet, wipe clean (clean as a whistle) and then later on when I go for a wee I notice smearing from my bottom. I have endo on my bowel, one of many places but I worry about this and I dont want to start feeling paranoid about it.

Sorry ladies for too much info πŸ˜” any info would be a huge help, thank you in advance xx

yes! I do!... sometimes several times a day. it's not every day but it's got me thinking now as I have endo on the bowel too. I wonder if its cycle related with it not being every day? might start keeping notes!! 😳 xx

Yes mine is several times a day but not all the time, it drives me insane, I feel dirty so I'm getting a little bit obsessed with going to the loo to check! I'm just worried that it will end up leading to incontinence, i can be out anywhere and need to go to the loo urgently within a matter of minutes of having the pains, I hate it, feel like it rules my life at times xx

I don't stress about it too much...its not on my underwear just when I wipe. I use to think maybe I was constipated and maybe it was 'leaking' out but it's not runny, just when I wipe so idk!

yes I sometimes get pain too and sudden urge that I have to go. the pain really causes me to stop what I'm doing, doubles me over and feel a but nauseous. I'm thinking that's the effect of wind tho? sometimes I get the same symptoms and I bloat up and feel like I need to pass wind or go to the toilet but nothing happens and the pain just stays! I hate it too, it does have a habit of dictating your life! I don't go out much these days bcos when i get a flare up I just find it too uncomfortable and painful! I am on a waiting list for a 2nd laparoscopy in spring so I'm hoping I will find some relief then! altho I know not guaranteed! 😩 xx

Yeah I dont get it in my underwear or anything just dont like it πŸ˜” it's horrible isn't it, I've had so many situations where we have had to leave a restaurant or a friends to go home, sometimes I've had to stop at my mums on the way home from work because I wouldn't make it home. Just rubbish. I'm waiting for bowel surgery but quite a risky OP so they're seeing how I manage on the pill for now with pain relief to xx

it's horrible and embarrassing having to excuse yourself isn't it. good job your mum is enroute to stop off at. I often worry if I get caught short. I don't know if it would help you but you can get a special card (free) from the bladder and bowel community which basically says the holder of the card has a medical condition and needs to use a toilet quickly. I've not actually used it yet but it helps just knowing I have it should I ever need it! have a look at bladderandbowel.org if you are interested.

just another thought...have you ever tried or considered acupuncture? I really found it helped in the past and I'm considering it again but just can't afford it atm! xx

btw, I was told if they did surgery on my bowel worst case scenario is I could end up with a colostomy bag so I'm a bit nervous as to what they will find! xx

Yes that's what makes me nervous about the the bowel surgery πŸ˜” dont get me wrong I wouldn't judge someone else for having one I've worked with lots of patients that have had them but I just wouldn't feel good, I dont feel great about myself anyway because of the whole situation but I think that would make me feel worse. That's great to know about the card thank you so much. I've never tried acupuncture but I know that its supposed to be good, might look into it. Does your endo affect your in other way? Xxx

yes...it would just be another thing to be self conscious over wouldn't it! and I don't have the best self esteem anyway! saying that, I haven't heard of any endo girls saying they have one so hopefully it won't come to that...I think they just have to tell you all the possibilities no matter how scary! or maybe it's a ruse by the NHS to save money by scaring people off surgery!! πŸ€”πŸ˜³

Oh yes I have plenty of other symptoms lol. fatigue is a big one but probably induced by all the pain wearing me out! as well as all the pelvic pain and bloating my right uterosacral ligament is affected which in turn gives me lots of lower back pain which then travels down my leg and all the way up to my neck, shoulder and down my arm. isn't endo great!! does it affect you in other ways? xx

Yes fatigue is a big one for me, always tired no matter how long I've slept πŸ™„ the pains are horrific, making me faint, diarrhoea and vomiting, bladder problems are bad also, some nights I go to bed and as soon as I lye down I feel like I'm going to wee, I've wet the bed a couple of times πŸ˜” emabarrsing for a 31 year old πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ infertility is another issue! Just destroyed me really, also caused me lots of anxiety and depression, been taking meds for around 4 years xxx
