Endo or bowel??

I'm unsure if I'm experiencing endo or bowel problems. I do have a range or endo symptoms and that's what my consultant thinks it is. Basically the past couple of times I've been to the toilet ( not for a wee) my stomach cramps up really really bad and it's very painful to go. I have also noticed a lot of blood after:/ I'm just wondering if any one else has experienced this as I'm getting worried on what it might be?

Hi I had bowel issues as well as many issues with my cycle- which made it more difficult for medics to diagnose! Luckily I’m under a good fertility consultant and after suffering chronic pain and bowel issues he done a laparoscopy and found and removed endo from my pouch of Douglas- area between uterus and rectum hence both symptoms. I have heard endo can affect your bowel. I think it might depend the location of your endo. It always surprises me that women can have extensive endo and no symptoms and women with small amount of endo suffer every endo symptom. My consultant suggested going gluten free and I was already lactose free as I realised that made my bowels worse. If your endo is near bowels you need a endo specialist not just a gynae. I recommend keeping a Pain diary to see if you can eliminate any possible foods that make your bowels worse. All the best with your surgery hope you feel better soon xoxo 😘

I have all the endo symptoms - as well as blood whenever I go to the toilet. I’m waiting a laparoscopy date and my gynae basically told me that it all depends on whether the endo is on my bowel or in it, if it’s in it I will have to have open bowel surgery 😪 but I feel your pain trust me! It’s absolutely awful xx

So can a laparoscopy look all around your bowel and abdomen? X

Well that’s the impression I got, she said that if it’s on it then they’ll take all my endo out then and there, but if it’s in it then they won’t do anything in that lap.. they’ll remove it all in the next surgery. I don’t know how they’d differentiate whether it’s on or in! I have a consultation appointment with my surgeon beforehand so I’ll have to discuss it with him xx

Hay just reading your message, I had this problem they'll do a camera test in your back passage to test for endo before your lap, I'm sorry to hear your suffering as bad as you are and I hope it hasn't grown inside your bowls! I was struggling with a lot of back passage bleading and pain but it was only growing on the outside, so fingers crossed for you! Since iv had all my endo removed from my pouch of Douglas those symptoms have stopped.. so I wish you the best of luck!! Hope your feeling better soon!! Xxx

Ive had endo symtoms since i was 19 im now 42!

The period pains and fainting and feeling bloated ... ended up in a&e so many times doubled up in pain and had lap NOTHING...

Got sent to gastro i got ibs and severe gluten and dairy intolerance, within month of stopping eating this all my pain went all the pain ive had for 30 something years!! I wish id known back then.

My periods are normal

Now and my pains gone and it just a relief shame ive wasted so much of my life accepting pain and thinking it was endo when i coulda just watches diet and VOILA GONE

Maybe I should try and stop eating gluten to see if that helps! So did you have Endo and IBS?

Nope no endo at all! All these years i was told i did or pcos and i just accepted it i was put on pill from 19 to 30 and it never really worked but at least i was regular.

Then things got so bad about year ago I ended up with 3 days stay in hospital as i was doubled up in pain they did ct scan, mri acan, ultra sound, colonoscopy and the a lap and nothing!! Healthiest pelvis they ever seen on a 42 year old not even a adhesion.

So all those years.

Went to a gastroentologist she recognised symtoms straight away said ur prob celiac, i wasnt but she said im more then 99% sure u are borderline... u got all symtoms i think u got severe ibs brought on by intolerances ( which when she looked at my uktrasound reports it said no cysts, fibroids but i could not see her left ovary due to bowel distention) which she said they should have realised then my bowel was inflammed!! So she said go home cut out all dairy and gluten coz it usually one of them, then introduce dairy back in.. well i dont eat dairy abyway i have plant based milk( soya). So it was only gluten and yeast i cut out and i literally noticed with week the pain subsiding... then i had my first period and i am usually on floor crying with sick bucket for three days , i dont sleep, my clots are like babies, i cant poo. I faint coz pain but that month i did my whole garden then went to movies in evening!!! Noone could believe it.. my husband and family are gobsmacked , happy but very upset ive suffered many yeara

Hello sorry to hear your struggling! I had endo in my pouch of Douglas, and also experiencing bowl problems and bleeding from the back passage, they sent me for camera tests and no endo was found inside my bowls, but since iv had the op to remove all endo from the outside of my bowl, it's stopped! I'm only 2 weeks post op but I did loose those symptoms! If your worried suggest to your doc to put you forward for camera testing to put your mind at rest! I hope they helps a bit xx
