Hi I'm just wondering if anyone has had laparoscopy during covid and how long did you wait for a date please I know everyone has different circumstances but to have an idea of the time to expect would be useful
Waiting time: Hi I'm just wondering if... - Endometriosis UK
Waiting time
Jaye75 ... Hi there, my original laproscopy was scheduled for May 2020 following a scan in Jan 2020 that identified a large Endometrioma on my right ovary, this was then cancelled due to the pandemic. I did go on to have it on 30th September 2020 this was done at a different hospital, NHS Scotland were using various sites to try and manage all casesloads. I was massively persistent though, i called my consultants office weekly as i was very symptomatic and near the end if my rope. Hope this helps.. stay safe and well. N x
Thank you for reply I'm in Newcastle and I know I feel the same losing all hope every single day in pain its depressing the life out of me and draining me my gyno suspects bowel endometriosis along with a few other areas I'm hoping it's not a huge long wait as I dnt know how much more i can take and I'm a very strong willed woman but this has got me on my knees x
I am also waiting for a laparoscopy, i don't know about you but I am struggling now to deal with the fatigue and pain having to keep missing work which isn't ideal. I too would find a rough estimate helpful.
I really hope you get seen soon just keep ringing the consultants office and nagging hopefully they will get it done for you!
I’ve not even seenthe gynaecologist yet I was referred in January 2020 I’ve had several scans cancelled the doctor referred me for another one recently!
Still waiting I was told it would be unlikely for me to have another lap surgery because I had one in 2015 that confirmed endometriosis and they will probably say it’s just likely that it’s come back again after having two babies ( basically because they’re not doing exploratory surgery at at the moment that’s why she said this). This left me so deflated
I’ve been following the endometriosis diet for about 14 weeks now very strictly I’ve not seen a different so I’m tempted to give up. Not sure I thought the following the diet would give me a little bit of relief why I was waiting x
The waiting time for an appointment is unbearable I waited about 2 months for appointment then another 2 months for the appointment date so 4 months from seeing my gp all the while being in pain more intensely as time goes by I absolutely hate when my period is due I feel ill for 3/4 days and cant do nothing apart from rock back and fourth on the floor and constantly changing pads my mother had the same problem and was sent away from her gp 16 years ago but things got so bad she demanded to be seen .. it turned out she had endometrial cancer but she is ok now thank god, my head is working overtime thinking this will happen to me if they dont hurry up arghhh it's a nightmare and its driving me crazy, we need to make a stand to get this endometriosis malarkey taken more seriously!!! Sorry it just angers me that we get pushed to the side you have waited a year and no appointment this just isnt acceptable, hoping you get seen to asap x
They just prescribe codine 30 mg etc. Tramadol over the phone without actually seeing me and if itake them when I’ve got the kids because it’s like having two bottles of wine. Although I am I’m in agony I just can’t function! Xx
I used to take a lot of pain meds like tramadol/naproxen/codeine/amatripaline and lots more but I refuse for the same reason I can't function to start with due to being exhausted but I use a tens machine a lot infact I use it that much it irritates my skin and I come out in a rash from the gel pads but I'd rather put up with that pain then endo pain lol I really feel for you having little ones to deal with ontop of it all my 2 are adults now (I'm 45) the 1 thing that does help is seeing my grandsons as i play with them for hours but glad I can hand them back lol x
Hi I was told that I would be waiting a year for a laparoscopy (this was Oct 2020) so I decided to pay for it to be done privately. I received my surgery date by December 2020 and had my surgery first week of Jan 2021. It cost £4400 for the full laparoscopic surgery and excision removal of endometriosis, plus also a tube dye test and other exploratory searches for infertility.
I hope this helps you or someone else reading ☺️
