I am looking into making a claim for NHS negligence from a surgery I had in 2022 (I was told i have 3 years to make the claim) and I was wondering if anyone else has gone through the process? I know its stressful and long winded which is why i have put it off for so long.
Basically I had surgery to remove and ovarian cyst and they made a mistake by puncturing my stomach which led to internal bleeding and risked my life. I was in hospital for a week as opposed to being in and out within a day like I was supposed to. It was extremely traumatising.
Any advice would be much appreciated, or any recommendations of trustworthy solicitors to start the claim.
Thank you!

So sorry to hear this. I had a bad experience after polyp removal that went wrong. All I would say is that you most likely signed a consent form in case things like this happen and they warn you it's a risk. I might be wrong but I wouldn't be surprised. Worth checking it out. Good luck. X
Yes they made me quickly sign a form before going in, they were rushing everyone as there was a queue to sign in, extremely unprofessional. But no one discussed anything with me or what could possibly go wrong. As I've spoken to other doctors, the stomach is nowhere near the ovaries so its strange how this happened. I also didn't realise the hospital had a bad rep as was my first time there. I know how stressful the process can be but also this has traumatised me for life, I cannot just let it go.
