Has anyone been prescribed Synarel (the sniff drug that stops your ovaries producing estrogen).
I’m starting it in a few days, along with Evorel conti. The theory is, if the pain stops I can go straight for a full hysterectomy to avoid many potential laparoscopies in the years to come.
Bit scary making big decisions without fully understanding consequences etc.
Anyone got any experience to share?
Hope you’re all ok and not in too much pain xxxx

I had a similar drug - zoladex - and it didn’t work for me. Later found out as I had severe endo it was never going to help. So it may not help so it’s worth being aware of that. And a hysterectomy isnt going to help endo unless it’s thoroughly excised at the same time. If you have severe endo or deep endo then this won’t be a simple op and must be done in a bsge centre.
Is that where you have additional surgeons in case you need it removed from other organs?
My pain only started a year ago and they couldn’t see anything on ultrasound or mri, which is why I think the private consultant recommended bypassing laroscopy and go straight for hysterectomy if the sniff works.
It’s all so confusing and I’m not sure what’s right 🙈
Bsge centres are the specialist centres where the multi disciplinary team work. So yes as you say it would have others - like colorectal in case it is on bowel.
Unless scans done by someone trained to spot endo they won’t pick it up. All Bsge centres now have to have someone they use for scans. I’ll drop you a dm with some more details as we can’t mention surgeons on this group. So I’m assuming can’t mention specialist scanners either.
