I’ve posted on here quite a bit, and have appreciated all the support I’ve been getting. I had my lap in May of 2023. Since then, I’ve started pelvic floor therapy. For the last 4 weeks, I’ve done bladder installations weekly. So installations one day then therapy the next. It’s honestly been awful. Both make me flare, especially getting the installations.
I’m still not able to sit or stand for more than 3-4 hours before being miserable. I just feel discouraged because I had my lap by an infamous surgeon. Shouldn’t I be better by now? I fought for my surgery (which was absolutely needed) and am embarrassed that I’m still having issues. Just wanted some reassurance from others who may have also had a rough recovery.❤️🩹

Sorry to hear you're still having issues. I had my laparoscopy and endo excision in April and still have lots of pain. I don't know if the contraception they've put me on has made me feel worse, but it could be a coincidence. I understand your frustration at not improving. Pelvic physiotherapy and stretches are the only thing that helps me, as well as a tens machine when the pain is severe.
I'm glad you're finding this forum supportive. It is amazing and everyone's very kind. I hope you feel better soon. 🤗
Thank you so much for your repsonse! I’m sorry that you’re still having pain as well🙁 I’m in the same boat with you on questioning my contraception. I want to stop to see if my pain is better, but am terrified.
Are you still taking pain meds daily, if you don’t mind me asking? I have a TENS and definitely need to at least give it a try.
No, course I don't mind you asking. I still take a few ibuprofen most days as that seems to help. When it doesn't, my oovi (tens machine) and the menthol Beyou patches stuck on my abdomen tend to ease the worst of it. I didn't get on with stronger painkillers as they affected my stomach horribly, so can't take them.
Thanks for your kind words. It's so difficult with contraception isn't it? They encourage you to keep going with it for months and months to see if your body has adjusted and it's hard to know if it's helping or hindering. It can be scary to come off when you've had bad experiences of not being on anything. Good luck with it. 🤞Hope you get some much-deserved relief soon.
I really appreciate it! I’m going to bring my TENS to my physical therapy appointment, and ask her how I should place it. I’m nervous to just go for it. Before my surgery I had tried and it sent me in spasms/flare-up.
Contraception sucks! lol Thank you so much. I’m really hoping that things will start to simmer down. Then I wonder if it’s just my new “norm”. Ugh.
I’m hoping that your pain subsides as well. It isn’t easy being in such shape. Definitely have to keep telling myself that it will be okay.
You're very welcome lovely. Hope your appointment goes well and they can help with using the Tens machine.
It really does suck. Contraception can be so hit and miss. I know some types really help some people, but they only way to find out is by trying it and seeing if any bad side effects go away eventually!
