Hello I’ve just had a opperatjon about 4 days ago I had keyhole and they looked around and put the gas into my stomache and I’m now recovering but I’m finding it really hard as I’m on my 4th day and I still have really bad shoulder pain and hurts when I breath and my chest is hurting abit and I don’t know if it’s from the gas or and infection ?

It will be from the gas, peppermint tea helps or a hot water bottle on your shoulders. It took about a week to go for me. Try and move around a little bit to help move the gas as well xx

It’s such an uncomfortable feeling, and the pain can get quite intense when it’s moving upwards and out of the body.Burping helps tons..maybe try some sparkling water to help your body release the gas-that helped me immensely. As the commenter before me mentioned hot water bottles are a must but if you have anyone to help you I would recommend massaging the shoulder/arm/chest area.It will help disperse the gas.My chest hurt a lot for about three weeks but I do have other illnesses so if your chest gets worse I would go to the docs and get checked. Its better to be safe. All the best in your recovery :)

Thankyou think I’m going to get a hot water bottle and just try everything I can to get this pain to go. It’s the hurting when breathing that I’m struggling with but hopefully will calm down soon

Hey!

I'm 3 days post op and am still finding it painful too..The gas pain is awful! I'm dreading having to go to the toilet (poop) as I haven't gone yet and I'm to scared too lol peppermint tea does help and I've been told to rest but when I lay down mine gets worse..So I've had to adjust to sleeping sitting up! X

Hope yours gets better I feel your pain as soon as I lie down to go to sleep I can’t breath and it’s like someone is sitting on my chest and shoulder. Hopefully by next week we will both be feeling a lot better :) xxx
