Hey all. I haven't been on here in a few years but wanted some advice please.. I had surgery 3 years ago which confirmed endometriosis. 3 years later I am in triple the pain than I ever was.. my doctor thinks this could have gone to my lungs as along with the pain I'm having alot of breathing problems but everything else is coming back normal. The pain has been that bad tjat I have lost count to how many times I've gone a&e and now pn morphine 4 times a day. Ny doctors have been sending urgent referals to the gynaecology teams at different hospital to them saying they have no appointments I am going on a wait list so much for urgent.. I have now had to book a private consultation, but tbh the cost of the surgery is alot, and with all the aboge ive been having to take time off work..Does anyone know anything else that could help in the mean time as I don't want to be living of morphine I'm not eating.. sorry for the rant and long message but any advice or tips would be very grateful 🙏 💓

Sorry you are going through this. Waiting lists seem to be awful in all specialties now.

I am wondering what pain medication you have tried before ending up on the morphine. There are basically opiates like morphine, also tramadol, codeine etc, anti inflammatories like naproxen, diclofenac and then meds for nerve pain such as pregabalin, gabapentin, and amitryptyline and other antidepressants. You can have medication from more than one group.

Your GP might be able to refer you to a pain clinic for more specialist advice (probably another wait though). It is good that they seem to be trying to help you as much as they can.

You could try writing to your GP outlining the problems you are having, you never know if that could hurry things along. Have you tried asking the secretary of the department you have been referred to to let you know of any cancellations?

I think a private consultation if you can afford that could be helpful, even if you can’t afford the surgery. Also it would be worth seeing if you can get a specialist ultrasound or MRI privately ( needs to be with someone trained in spotting endo). A useful group that can give you recommendations is the Facebook group Endometriosis Guidance and Information Resource UK. Worth looking at their information files as well.

Has your GP considered just referring you to a chest specialist to look at your breathing issues? ( could very well be endo, but might be a shorter waiting list)?

Anyway, some of this is maybe stuff you have already done, but I thought I would suggest it.

Hope you find some help somewhere soon xx
