I've got my first gynaecology appointment next week and I don't really know what to expect. My doctor put my on a urgent referral to my local private hospital to help get a diagnosis/understanding of what is wrong (my nurse's still think its endo).
Haven't been told anything, will it just be a discussion or will the want to do tests/exams...?

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this, but excellent news that you have been referred and can begin to seek treatment!
We have a couple of resources available on our website that i thought might be useful for you to read over. The first is a pdf on getting a diagnosis with a section on preparing for your appointment with your consultant on page 3. The second is a link to our website page on seeing an endometriosis specialist which you may also find helpful!
From personal experience, I was also referred to a private consultant. I had a general discussion with the consultant about symptoms as well as an internal examination with a cervical smear and sti checks. I was then referred for an internal ultra-sound scan!
I hope this helps, and good luck with your appointment!
Hi! I just had my first appointment with my gynaecologist last week following a referral and I didn’t know what to expect either. She basically just wanted a discussion and run down of what has been going on and my symptoms, she then explained that it did sound like possible endo and pointed me to the Endometriosis.UK website. We discussed possible options to help (IUD, injection etc) and then she took some bloods and is sending me to get further pelvic scans and an MRI.
I would say overall probably about half an hour, she did ask quite a few questions - if I’d been diagnosed with endo before, if it was in the family, then just a lot of questions about my symptoms and their background (how long it has been going on etc)
