hey everybody. Had to stay in overnight after my first lap yesterday because of a cysts bursting mid surgery, the surgeon said I have severe endometriosis and my bowel was fused to my pelvis? Has anyone had this?

I haven’t had a cyst burst but was diagnosed with severe deep infiltrated endo in bowel and pelvis and all my Internal organs fused together. Just had an mri to see hi ow much bowel involved and will be having another surgery soon . Xxx

Had my Lap last year and was told my bowl/bladder was fused to my abdominal wall with endo tissue. Certainly a shock but since they removed it the pain has been so much better.

I also had ovarian cysts but they didn't burst during surgery and I was turfed out the hospital same day.

Be sure to rest up, your insides will feel a bit jiggly for the next few days but it'll pass.

Hi lovely. Sorry to hear this! It sounds really painful 🙁

I haven't had a burst cyst, but my left ovary used to stick to my bowel all the time. Surgeons would separate it, but it would always go back. It was incredibly painful and pulled whenever I moved, but especially when having bowel movements, coughing or stretching.

In my latest surgery in May this year, they found that my right ovary, right fallopian tube, and right ureter were buried in my right pelvic wall, and that was pulling everything over to the right side, including pulling at my bowel via my ovary on the left 😭 That was on top of endo in other places, including causing adhesions between my rectum and my cervix. It felt exactly as horrendous as it sounds.

I don't want children and I was sick of everything sticking together, so I opted for a total hysterectomy + bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of womb + fallopian tubes + ovaries), alongside extensive excision of endometriosis, adhesiolysis (separation of adhesions), and ureterolysis to free and clear my ureters.

The removal of everything in this way doesn't work for everyone, and isn't a decision to be taken lightly. Plus, surgical menopause is pretty brutal, but my pain has reduced by at least 90% and my quality of life has improved enormously. Now I just have to hope that nothing was left behind on my bowel that will come back to bite me 🤞

Rest up and be gentle with yourself. Recovery can be tough, but so are you 💛
