pre admission testing

Hi 💕 does anybody know what timescale it is to surgery when you get an appointment for pre admission testing? There is no info on the letter and I can only find vague info online . Is it days, weeks or months? Thanks in advance! As it’s been 9 months since I got put on the waiting list I’m not sure if this is just another carrot on a stick to keep me quiet 🤫🤪 hope everyone’s ok x ( oh ps I’m in Manchester if anyones dealt with the current waiting times here)

Hi Batwoman3. I’m not sure if it is the same in all hospitals but when I’ve had previous operations it has always been that the pre assessment is valid for three months as I’ve had to go back again when my op was postponed during Covid.

I’m also based in Manchester and the team rang me within 2/3 weeks of (pre admission testing) to book me in for an op.

i’m also based in manchester and it’s varied quite a lot between different hospitals. at salford royal it was about 3 weeks between pre-op and the surgery, but now i’m under the endo centre at st mary’s i had my pre-op back in may and i’m still waiting x

Ah ok . I’m hysterectomy but also st Mary’s so I guess I’ll ask them at pre op x good luck with your op too xx

I have a pre op assessment on 30.10 and the surgery date on 08.11 so just over a week.

Hi with my hospital it has to be within 6 weeks you have your pre op checks or they have to be done again, if for example your slot is cancelled for any reason,
