Seen gynaecologist last Thursday and I’m having 2nd laparoscopy thought I’d be waiting a while but I’ve had a letter from the women’s hospital today with an appointment next week for my pre op 🙈 does that mean my surgery won’t be long after? Nerves are kicking in now 😂😂😂

I know exactly how you feel! I saw my gynae about 3 weeks ago and he said he'd put me on the list but it would be 3-4 months. Following week had appointment for pre op and now have hospital calling for dates I can't do. They said it could be in next couple of months!!! Only had hysterectomy last year and not sure I'm ready. Was told that I could defer it though, but hard to know what to do. Mine is for possible adhesions. Apparently the pre op is valid for upto 3or 4 months. I'm thinking best to get it over and done with, then you know where you are! 😁

I may be totally wrong but for some reason had the impression that pre op had to be no more than 2 weeks before, if its longer they then need to redo bloods to ensure there is no infection prior to surgery. I was treated privately via employer insurance so it may be different procedure in nhs.

I've just had a pre op two weeks ago. I asked how long I'd be waiting as I've not got a date was told the pre op lasts 16 weeks. I thought it would be a couple of weeks not months. I phoned the admissions office yesterday and told surgery dates at the hospital I'm going do monthly appointments and I'm not on the list 😞 but she put me down as available at short notice and cancellations. So I'm hopeful!

I had my pre-op on the 27th of April and received my letter last week with a date for the 11th of June! Didn’t expect it to be so quick but I’m glad!

I had my pre op in April and I am expecting the op to be around December. That’s how long the list is where I am.
