I've been waiting for over 12 months for my lap at Birmingham women's hospital and had my pre op at the end of November. I was told I would get a phone call with a date shortly as was top of the list but next I heard was an MRI appt at the end of December. I chased for the results as thought that was delaying my date but I still haven't received a phonecall to book me in even though my consultants secretary says they are looking at February to book me in. Is this a normal amount of time to wait on a phonecall for a date or shall I chase them again? I am quite far away from the hospital so really don't want to have to have another pre op as it's getting near the 3 month mark.
Thanks

am not At Birmingham but north staffs and the waiting lists are ridiculous so it’s normal ! Do you know who is doing your surgery ? I’ve heard good things about dr afifi
Hi thanks for your reply. Yes that's who is doing my surgery so hopefully worth the wait! I just feel like everything has been in the wrong order. Pre op then MRI and I've even had my appointment for after the op in April ! Hope you don't have too much longer to wait too x
I’m on the Wirral so not sure if it’s different but I had an MRI in June 23, the follow up phone call with the consultant December 23 and then had my first lap 2 weeks ago. Now have to wait however many more months because they couldn’t removed it all as it’s now stage 4 so have to wait for a specialist, I’ve been told that will probably be atleast 9 months. The waiting lists are shocking
well your super lucky get him! From all the research I’ve done he is suppose to be the best! Please let me know when you do and how you get on! As I’ve currently saving for maybe go with him privately! Which we really can’t afford to but I have no faith in the endo specialist at royal Stoke I just don’t trust anything he says! Did you have endo confirmed on MRI?
I have stage 4 endo and this will be my 3rd surgery but 1st with an endo specialist. I haven't had any results from the MRI yet but this surgery is to check for thoracic endo as well as general removing and unsticking my ovary if he can. I'm getting pain under my left rib and everything under the sun has been ruled out so I really hope he is as good as they say. I didn't see him at my appt but who I did see was so much more helpful and understanding than previous gynes I've seen but I will definitely keep you updated with it all x
