I (23F) had a laparoscopy 2 years ago where they found out I had a blocked fallopian tube. The pain in that side has been getting worse ever since then, and recently found out it was a large hydrosalpinx.
As I’ve never had any infections/PID, they are assuming it’s because of endo growing in my tube. So now I’m waiting to have another laparoscopy and single sided salpingectomy (tube removal).
Everything I try to read about this is related to fertility and IVF - but I haven’t found anything about this issue relating to endo specifically, where fertility isn’t the main concern.
Has anyone else ever experienced this?
Can anyone share their experience with either salpingectomy and/or a hydrosalpinx?
Thank you so much 😊

I have a hydrosalphinx on one side and had that Fallopian tube clipped. It was filled with fluid thought to be linked to my endometriosis. They couldn’t remove my tube as it was too stuck to other things and would have caused other issues. I had the surgery before starting IVF so I’m unsure of the wait if you are just waiting for the surgery in general.
I hope you get your surgery soon and the answers you need 😊
I had a hydrosalpinx 2 years ago and a laparoscopy to unblock it where they also ablated endometriosis. I am now having my third surgery as I have another hydrosalpinx in the same tube and endometrioma on my ovary. They think mine is definitely endometriosis related.
thank you for your response - it definitely seems like the endometriosis and hydrosalpinx could be linked for both of us. Wishing you all the best with your surgery too!
