My aunt (who also has endometriosis) had this after an ectopic pregnancy (at least I think it was after this?) and she still does get some pain, particularly around a period. However she also have a bowel condition and untreated endo so it may be related to that too.

My doctor told me as well that salpingectomy will help with IVF cycles moving forward

Hi, I had bilateral salpingectomy due to severe endometriosis. And I still get bad period pain.

Me :( I always say to my partner I don’t understand why I still get pain!

Some days the pain is worse than before!

Hi,

I had a bilateral salpinectomy (by choice) and endo was discovered during that op. You will still have pain even after having the tubes removed because you will still ovulate as normal. I take the pill every day to stop bleeding and help manage endo symptoms but it's not always so good. This week in particular is bad. I'm scheduled for a hysterectomy in May but not sure when that will happen now.

Mine wasn’t by choice unfortunately 😪 I am taking hormone pills but took a break from them. Maybe I should start back up

I do feel that taking the pill helps me. I notice a difference within a day or two if I haven't taken it at the same time each day like I am supposed to. Taking pills isn't for everyone, and this is the only one I take but at the moment I wouldn't be without it. I dread to think how much worse I would be without it.

Hope you get your pain sorted soon xx

Hello.

I had both tubes and an ovary removed and unfortunately it has left me with pain every day.

Best wishes to you xx

I’ve now had both tubes and both ovaries removed - operations two years apart, and the good news - no endo pain since recovery from second surgery, despite mine being deep infiltrating grade 4c and apparently some still left on my bowel

Hi, yes indeed, unfortunately we shouldn't assume that a salpingectomy removes all pain of endo. In fact, any endo surgery doesn't guarantee removal of all pain, particularly if it was only ablation.

'Beating Endo' is a great book to educate on how the co-conditions and pain related to them affect things and unless you address from an all over approach after surgery, with a look at diet, lifestyle as well to help and not just surgery, you can still face a lot of pain.

I'm starting on this post-surgery journey myself, with another large ovarian cyst having just popped up out of nowhere 4 months after the salpingectomy.

I'm no angel though, still having a glass of red later

Hope you are well! x

I have been struggling with my diet a lot! I will definitely look for that book.
