5 years and yesterday finally got the answers for my pain. Endometriosis found. My surgeon also mentioned adhesions? And my appendix was fused to scar tissue. Just wondering if anyone else has had this?
What a mix of emotions I’m feeling today. It wasn’t just a bad period, can painkillers keep the pain away no not at all, that’s the crap we have to listen to from apparent health professionals. It’s awful.

hope you're recovering well? can i ask did you have any symptoms with the appendix having scar tissue on it? I have been diagnosed with endo but during the surgery endo lesion is on my left side but I experience daily lower right pelvic pain so odd
I’m not too bad thank you it’s not pleasant though. Every time of the month and for upto two weeks after I had severe pain on my right lower side it hurt to move, cough, brush my teeth, get out of bed etc. I used to put my heat bag in the microwave and just put it on my side to take away the pain I’d rather my skin basically burn than feel the pain inside. I did have endo behind my right ovary too. You still have pain after surgery?
Yeah the first couple of days after surgery is hard. Oh I see. Was the pain there for days constantly? I'm sure they have missed endo on my right side and I am on pill so don't get periods but nearly everyday I have lower right pelvic pain especially after standing for too long. Yeah still have pain as endo wasn't removed during surgery as will need surgery with endo specialist. Did you ever have pain on the left?
yeah pain was always there but some times bearable and sometimes not so bearable. Oh I got scared then thinking I still don’t want pain after this laparoscopy. He done what he needed to do the surgeon, I think I hope and pray anyway. He said it’s a chronic disease so it needs management I think I will be going on some sort of contraception I won’t be having the coil though. No I never had pain on my left side.
Yeah same with me then. Glad you got the answers and glad they were able to remove it for you. After excision surgery I think it can take a few months to heal but then hopefully after that you should be pain free hopefully. Yeah you prob will know more at your post op follow up regarding management x
it’s awful isn’t it. I’m not on any social media but I joined this to try and make sense and see what other people were experiencing. The doctors aren’t the best one doctor said to me you’re on the waiting list what do you want me to do? When I rang and said I can’t cope with the pain anymore.
Yeah this is a good forum to ask for advice. Oh that's not good. I'm having a bad experience with my gp at the moment as they aren't willing to put pain meds on repeat prescription which is a nightmare. I feel like it's a constant battle but it shouldn't be that way x
Glad you finally got answers and a proper diagnosis and were vindicated on the symptoms. We know our bodies best and the horrific pain we have to endure. If health professionals listened and believed us the first time round we'd all get a proper diagnosis in a humane time frame. Wishing you strength and steady healing as you recover from your op 🙏
pain killers are tested on men, so yes they don’t work. Hormone fluctuations can effect the results which is why they use men!
Have you tried looking at your diet? Many people get relief by following a gluten wheat free diet, try it rigorously for a couple of months. You could also try an anti-inflammatory diet to reduce the internal inflammation caused. Look at endometriosis.co.uk
Just to add on the diet front, I went on a diet and started to exercise just because I wanted to lose some weight and all my pain has gone… like completely! I’ve actually decided not to have surgery as a result. The consultant put it down to my change of lifestyle…
