Hey girls,

So I have just been put on some pain relief ( Naproxen and cocodimol from my gp as i cant get to see my consultant atm due to what's going on, the co codamol mask the pain but the naproxen makes me feel sick for hours, is anyone else on these and experiencing the same or any advice on how to not feel sick on them? I take them when I've eaten as that's what the doctor told me. Just feel stuck as I cant actually see the doctor and I'm in agony atm. Dont help with all the work I've been doing lately too 😔 thanks in advance xxx

Were you prescribed omeprazole or anything like that? Naproxen can hurt the stomach. I was always prescribed this when I was taking naproxen x

I've been on naproxen for 3 months and was prescribed omeprazole from day one to take with it to protect the stomach. I would def call your GP and ask about it especially if your feeling nauseous.

I did and was told I was having a reaction. I actually had to see a doctor (rare at this moment in time) naproxen has given me a ulcer in my belly 🙄 but for my endo they have now given me meptazinol and lansoprazole xx

Yes, be very careful with Naproxen or any other anti inflammatory drug. They destroyed my esophagus. Always take with food and stomach protection. It may take you longer to tolerate them.

Yes I got Naproxen for migraines. It made me feel very sick. Maybe they could give you an alternative. Speak to your doc x

I had the same issue with naproxen, it gave me migraines and also made me feel extremely sick.

Are there no others they can try you on? I found cocodamol and paracetamol worked best for me, but everyone is different.

Also a tens machine I've found works wonders too. Even if the pain is really bad, it definitely takes the edge off.

Hiya, I was on naproxen for a while and had the same problem with feeling sick. I was told that naproxen isn’t great for you so I don’t take it much anymore but anti sickness tablets always do the trick for me. Hope your able to sort it out and ring your Go if you’re not sure x

The best way to take them is apart. 4 hours for each. Not together.

Stay bless

Also consult your GP how it makes you sick.

I agree with the omeprazole comment above. I don't tolerate it well either having tried it for my endo. When I hurt my back I was prescribed Ecoxib (anti inflammatory) that had no side effects for me and worked for pain relief alongside codeine xx

HI there,

I was given Naproxen after I had my laparoscopic surgery last month and did not experience any side effects. I would however recommend trying out Pilates and yoga which will help control the pain you are having. Also try meditation for pain too as this can really calm down the nervous system and any stress in the body. :) Hope that helps! :)
