I am awaiting this procedure and have no idea how long I will wait. I'd be interested to hear how long everyone is waiting? Thank you x
How long did you have to wait for a Lapar... - Endometriosis UK
How long did you have to wait for a Laparoscopy
i had an initial appointment beginning of feb, had a pre op mid march and due for surgery end of march...
I've been waiting since June 2022 and was told I won't be seen until 2024 x
Initial appointment Nov, follow up appointment Feb, now been given another appointment in April to "discuss the options" which was already covered at follow up so absolutely no idea till I actually get any treatment!
Oh dear, that's not good. Such a waste of time. I hope they can give you a treatment plan at your next appointment x
I really hope it happens soon for you 🙏I've been in the system 14 months already. Misdiagnosed and given the wrong treatment. It's barbaric how we are being treated (or not!) Xx
Hi,
I had my initial appointment with gynaecology in March 2021 (where they suspected endo), had my follow up appointment in June 2021 to discuss treatment options. I was officially added to the waiting list for a laparoscopy in October 2021. I had my pre op in Feb 2023 & my operation on 07.03.23.
I was stage 2 /3 according to MRI in March 2021 but am actually stage 4.
Hope this helps.
I've been waiting since May 2021.Had a call from the hospital recently asking if I still wanted the operation and they said they couldn't tell me how much longer it would be but it's a long wait list.
I was referred may 2021 and by March 2022 I hadn’t even had an appointment so went for a private consultation with an endo specialist who put me on his nhs list. Had my laparoscopy on Monday I’m in the north west - which I believe is one of the worst areas in terms of waiting lists xxx
Hi,
I was told the waiting list is for a year. I will a year in May and have been emailing the secretary of my consultant. She told me the waiting list is long so no sure if it will happen around May🥴
I hope you don’t have to wait so long.
All depends on area, who’s doing it etc. my lap in Aug 2022, I waited 66 weeks. Was added to the list again for Endo removal in October and was told it would be a similar wait, if not longer!
Hi, I'm waiting for mine also - the Fictor put me on the waiting list in Sept, and said I'd the moment it's typically a 12 month wait x
Hello, added to the waiting list in August 22. Consultant said it was a Yr. Spoke to the hospital in February. its a 2 Yr wait. I live in Scotland . seriously considering going private. the consultation is £200, but the procedure is between £3-£7k. which is crazy. This is an existence though. It's terrible we are all going through this.
I would pay for a lap privately (I can't afford it) if I knew I would definitely get treatment. My fear is that they don't find anything 😢
Well, I do feel the same to be honest. After years of doctors visits and finally getting a diagnosis is a relief. Thankfully its nothing life threatening. Getting to the bottom of a reason why I feel so much pain and can't have kids is OK. I accept that now. My concern is if they did an laproscopy and found nothing I would be distraught.
I originally consented to my op back in October 2021. I had already been given my diagnosis that year and the plan was for the removal of endometriomas and adhesions. This op was finally performed last Wednesday. After pushing and pushing the secretary I was given an appointment to see my consultant in February who did get things moving pretty quickly once I told him it was coming up to 75 weeks!
If you are prepared to travel, you can ask for the surgery to be performed at a trust that has shorter waiting times.
I hope you're not waiting much longer 🙏🏻
