driving after lap surgery

Almost seems like a silly question to ask people.. but when did you start driving after surgery? I am fighting the mental battle of trying to listen to my body and give myself enough rest but also feeling like I should push myself to do stuff as perhaps it would help me get stronger and I’d feel better for it. Thanks for thoughts

Hi,

I asked the nurse just before I got discharged after my laparoscopy and she said I could drive as soon as I could do an emergency stop. I’m going to wait until 6 weeks after the op just to be safe.

All the best.

Hi, I had my lap op 20th February and did my first drive (very short) on 14th March so 3 weeks.

I got told not to drive for 2 weeks and until I could do an emergency stop.

I drive about a week after and just put a scarf under the seatbelt so it wasn’t putting pressure on wounds
