Hi ladies,

have any of you experienced awful flares after taking laxatives?

my doctor gave me laxatives as my Dhydracodine & naproxen is causing constipation.

since taking the laxative, I have burning painful womb pressure & feel sick.

I only took one tablet & have been to the toilet afew times ( sorry tmi) but I'm left with this flare

it's all such a battle isn't it

I’m not sure, but I do wonder. I experienced something similar last week when I tried a suppository for constipation. Within a few minutes I almost passed out from intense pain. I’d be interested to hear others’ experiences. I hope your flare calms soon.

Think it may depend what you take definitely over the years have suffered for sure with various products.Currently with advice from my nutritionisttak take Magnesium Citrate (powder form) in the evening very gentle. The best thing I have tried in 30 years!!!

ah this is good to no.

thank you

Some laxatives are lactose based and for some of us that’s a problem and I know from bitter experiences that it’s set off a massive flare for me. If needed then I ask for a non lactose based one but echo the advice for Mag Citrate . I like castor oil packs on the gut and Epsom salt baths / foot baths to help move things along and cut down the inflammation.
