Diagnosed with Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding

Hello everyone, I am new here. I am looking for any advice or if anyone has had a similar experience - I started bleeding heavily May 2021 after 20 years of no issues on the mini Pill (Desogestrel)

I had a transvaginal scan (Sept 2021) and a hysteroscopy (Jan 2022) as a polyp was suspected, but nothing was found.

I was prescribed transexamic acid initially to reduce the bleeding but then this stopped working. I am currently on Norethisterone (since May 2022) but this week it stopped helping and I have been suffering bleeding and pain again.

I am on the waiting list for an Endometrial Ablation, but this is still be 6 - 9 months away

I am concerned that it could be Endometriosis, I don't know if the Ablation would still help this or if there is anything else I should be asking health professionals for?

Many thanks

Hi Kittie5117 , I am sorry that you are physically suffering as you are and I am sure mentally too. You have reached out to the right place! The diagnosis that you have been given at the moment is correct in regards to your symptoms and as a result of further exploratory methods, a more detailed diagnosis should be possible. Please write your concerns down and take them to your next appointment. It won't take them away, it just stops them swirling round your head, endlessly. In the meantime, this is a good source of factual information wuth.nhs.uk/media/18090/pl0...

Thankyou, the link/NHS leaflet that you gave me was really helpful. Yes, I think I am on the right treatment pathway for my age and symptoms, it is just unfortunate that there are no quick and easy answers but I know I am not alone in having these symptoms.

Thanks again,

Kittie5117
