Bleeding with Zoladex

Hi,

I have been on zoladex now for about 6 months. I stopped bleeding pretty much instantly when the injections started however the last two injections I was bleeding a few days before I was due an injection. I am now bleeding heavy with clotting when I have about 2 weeks before my next injection. Has anyone had this? Does this mean it is not working? I have started to feel endo pain again as well.

I really hope this is not the zoladex not working as I have another 9 months or so before surgery. Please let me know if you have had this so I know I am not the anomaly.

Thanks :)

Hi, I’ve been on Decapeptyl for over a year now, similar to what you’re on I think. I started heavy bleeding, with big clots in December. I was worried as I hadn’t had anything for a year. My gp referred me to the urgent gynae clinic at my local hospital where they done a biopsy. Thankfully it came back clear so the consultant thinks it my of been a cyst that caused the bleeding. I will had u was under a huge amount of stress at that time too which I think had a lot to do with it. Defo see the gp and asked for an urgent referral so they can check you out. Hope this helps 💛

Aww thank you for replying!! It is scary when you have no idea why something is happening. I will call my specialist team & GP today to discuss with them. I didn't want to bother calling if it is really normal and I am being over cautious.

Yeah completely agree it’s scary but you’re never a bother I promise. I have endo but I’m a nurse too so see both sides and it’s always better to check things out for peace of mind. It’s hard enough living with endo without these extra worries isn’t it x

Yes, I had bleeding as well and had to stop it. I take the pill back to back now, with no breaks so don't have periods. Good luck x

I have had a similar issue, but it started after being on Zoladex for about 10-11 months. The nurse at hospital didnt seem to concerned about it when I raised it but Im not so sure as pain definitely increased too. I also find when I do more activity I get clotting too but it then stops again so not sure whats going on x
