Worried about new symptoms,, can anyone say if they've had similar experience???

I had a lap in early March and had endo confirmed and removed at the time of surgery. But over the past month I've noticed constant bloating which is very abnormal for me as well as feeling very tired and needing to pee urgently. I also get sharper pains on my left side of the pelvis. However I'm worried as these symptoms are matching with ovarian cancer but I'm only 18. I have an appointment with my gyno end of this month to discuss things but I don't know if I'm overthinking or if it's the desogestrel pill I'm on or just random symptoms. Please can anyone suggest if they'd had similar symptoms what the cause may be.

Hi there. I have had simular symptoms which led up to endo diagnosis only a couple of weeks ago ( via laporoscopy whereby stage 3 to 4). My diagnosis was recent ( symptoms over 2 months) but left pelvic pain and urinary urgency where the main signs.

With these symptoms could still be endo flaring up. You say you've had lesions removed can you remember what stage and where? It's not curative since more can form thus can flare up again particularly near menstruation, ovulation ( or in my case all the time) . Also other conditions should be ruled out. For example with urinary urgency rule out a urinary tract infection. My intial diagnosis was an ovarian cyst which can also cause pain and if large compression of the bladder. With endo also need to rule out cholocolate cysts on the ovary via gynae.

Cancer is thankfully rarer especially someone so young and with a recent laporoscopy.

I'd say visit your gp as a first step they can examine you rule out more basic stuff and refer back to gynae. If your higher stage 3-4 then ask regarding endometresiosis specialist centres. They should have your records regarding stage and what was done via laporoscopy/ was there bladder involvement.

Hope this helps.

Thank ou for your response, I don't know what stage but I know it was in the push of douglas and I did have a cyst but it was removed so I'm not sure if I also could have another one maybe. I just seem extremely bloated which is really abnormal for me and was the first thing that made me pick up on these symptoms. I workout several times a week as well as swim and walks so I just can't understand the bloating

Endo can cause abdominal bloating. But numerous other conditions can also. To be in the pouch of Douglas this is more severe stage. Recurrence of a cyst isn't impossible.

But I think contact your GP as the first step just incase. Have a physical exam , they can palpate / feel your abdomen ensure it all feels OK. Likely run urine tests for infection etc. Then I would suspect gynae anyway. It is good you already have an appointment booked later this month. Dependant on all this possibly repeat ultrasound etc.

No worries my dear. Recently diagnosed myself. It's such a mine field. Especially after laporoscopy, knowing how much pain could be remaining post adhesion/ nodule removal. All the best x

Yes it's so draining, and I've noticed since the diagnosis I feel extra alert about anything that doesn't seem right with my body for some reason. Xx

Of course. I have been the same, hypervigilant of any changes. But this is your body, pain is a warning. And you know what is your normal. Always stick to your instinct. Especially high grade endo. It is better to seek your gp / gynae if you have any concerns. And if your treatments so far are not working refferal to an endo specialist centre x

Thank you for your advice, I do know of an endo centre near me so I may try to get in touch. I'll try and see my gp this week to explain it and see if they think anything in particular is causing it. Thanks so much ! X

Forgot to say I've had bloating from the pill a while ago. But it wouldn't explain the urinary urgency thus as above x

Hey! I had endometriosis tissue removed from the pouch of Douglas and from my ovaries. I find that I occasionally get bloating, usually around a particular time of month and have pain mainly on the right side of my pelvis. I suffer frequently with UTIs, which I do sometimes wonder is linked with the endo.I'm telling you all this as I feel like we have similar symptoms and to reassure you that you're not on your own. Definitely speak to someone about your symptoms just to get some reassurance.

Good luck! x

I really appreciate the reassurance! I think I'm just confused because I don't bleed anymore so I'm just always bloated which usually I'd link with my period but because they stopped with the pill I'm not sure why it won't go down not even of a morning xx

Hi Surfingblue, and all sorry you have these awful symptoms.

I also have the above symptoms, had endo in the pouch of Douglas, on ovary, ligament, that the gynae ablated in may last year, probably inflamed symptoms. I tried ‘chemical menopause’ (synarel) for 7 months last year and it helped reduce the gastro-related bloating symptoms.

Im at menopause age but for me some similar recent symptoms turned out to be be chronic cystitis -and /or uti for which im seeing a urologist in a week after a long period of misdiagnosis. Utis can upset the stomach and cause pelvic muscle contractions too.

If its a uti- hope its checked/ treated properly with the correct antibiotic for the bacteria (potentially with a urologist familiar with endo if symptoms persist). Best of luck

Thanks for your help, I'll definitely get an appointment with my gp this week and discuss this to see if they think I need a referral x
