Hi, wondering if anyone has any advice? Due to the waiting time on NHS I had my lap done privately on the 26th July. Gyno said he couldn’t see me after the surgery as he had other patients to operate and would tell me results on my appointment in two weeks time. I’ve called today to get some more pain relief as I am still struggling with pain, they’ve asked me to go in and be seen, after they’ve seen me they have advised shouldn’t be this uncomfortable and have sent me for an emergency scan but sent me to the local nhs hospital with a letter. I told them that I had not had pain relief as I had come straight from other hospital, waited an hour for pain relief that still had not came and was told it was a 6 hour wait as they had to put me through triage and make their own assessments. However I cannot sit up for that long, especially wearing trousers. The letter says that no pelvic pathology found.. does that mean no endo found? How long did it take for the pain to stop after other peoples laparoscopy? Hope to hear from you soon x

Hey, I suggest maybe speaking to your gp about what to do for pain. For me the pain lasted around a couple of weeks. Worst part was the the trapped gas which made my shoulders ache alot. Really hope you get well soon. I also had my lap done privately as I couldn't wait on the nhs. Sometimes their just not great with pain relief but definately speak to your gp as they may be able to help more. As for the pelvic pathology thing I have no idea sorry. Feel free to message if I can help at all. Wish you lots of luck x
You should have been given a discharge note with a summary of the operative findings and any procedure carried out. This is a requirement so didn't they give you anything when you were discharged?
If the letter says no pathology found at the lap then yes that means no endo was found. In that case if they just went in and had a look, then came straight out and stitched up the wounds you wouldn't expect to be in debilitating pain over a week later. How many incisions do you have?
Since you went privately I assume you researched to find an endo specialist and not a general gynaecologist. Sometimes when a general gynaecologist does a lap without any special training (which is against guidelines) they report no endo found but sometimes do say there were adhesions which they separated. Unless there has been previous abdominal surgery, that can cause adhesions, these often are deep endo but the gynaecologist didn't have the expertise to recognise them as such.
I agree to ask your GP for more pain relief. I assume your follow up is in a few days but in the meantime I'd ring the hospital and ask them to email you a discharge note with a summary of what was found from the lap report as this is a requirement of RCOG (the Royal College). Also be sure they note how much pain you are in on your hospital record. When you have the follow up ask for a copy of the lap report or to take a photo. They aren't required to give you a copy without a formal application so if they won't I'd put in a formal application as you might need the lap report going forward. The link to the BMA guidance is below but feel free to DM if you need more info.

Hello, thank you for your response. I have a document that says the procedure carried out which was laparoscopy with therapeutic procedures but it says nothing else, when I asked the doctor for the notes who discharged me, he said there wasn’t any left and the gyno would discuss with me at my appointment .
My whole stomach has been bruised, and still is really. I have two incisions, one on the left of my pelvis and the one that seems to go through my belly button and down. When I looked him up, it said he had special interest in endo.
I will speak to the GP today, my appointment is Monday so I will know more then. x
