Post surgery, late period - normal?

Hi

I had my surgery two weeks ago. Endometriosis diagnosis. The consultant said the next period will be bad but hopefully 5-6 months of ok periods after that.

My first period after surgery is now late though, (all the usual pains for the last week in addition to pain from surgery). Instead of period I’ve got discharge similar to ovulation time, creamy like texture.

Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know if this sounds normal?

Discharge is normal for me in the middle of my cycle, and I assume surgery around the uterus can affect the normal cycle.

Yes mine didn't come for about three weeks but I was on when they did the surgery
