Period post Gnrh query

Hello, I'm new to posting here and wondering about those of you who have had Gnrh injections how long did it take for your periods to return after your last injection?

I had my last injection on the 16th of September and as yet ( 10 weeks) no sign of my period starting though I have been bloated and tired. I read its supposed to be 6 to 10 weeks after the last injection that periods return.

Really interested in others experiences. xx

Hi,

I had a really bad experience on Gnrh had it 3yrs ago with last injection start October and surgery mid October, my period returned end of November.

I think - like all things periods it’s no one size fits all and our bodies are all different - as long as you are feeling ok, that’s the main thing.

All the best,

Katie x

Hi! Comforting to hear your in the same boat! Do let’s stay updated as to when we get them!

Are you still having side affects of the injections? I’m still hot flushing etc.

I also keep feeling like maybe period is coming to - cramping, cravings, bloated, tired but nothing!

Xx

Yes good idea, would be good to know when yours finally comes. Luckily I haven’t got the hot flushing anymore stopped about 5 weeks ago. I have had a round of 3 monthly injections between April -June I had withdrawal bleed in July and a period in August. I then had surgery for Endo removal in August, I had another injection day after surgery and then last injection on 17th September. I was meant to have another injection in October but due to the side affects (hot flushing, low mood, fatigue etc) my gynaecologist decided not to give it to me.

I hope the hot flushes stop for you soon x x x

Aw thanks for checking in lovely.

Sadly no period still! I did contact gyne and was told it’s fine don’t worry... never thought I’d be wishing for a period!

How was yours? Did you get pain or was it ok? Xxx

I’m glad you checked with gynae, least it puts your mind at rest. I know it’s so strange wanting a period to come!! Mine was what I would describe as a normal period, just a dull ache. Last week I had some of my old symptoms like back ache and leg pain but nothing like it was before. Hope your feeling ok x x x
