Hi I have waited a year for my second laparoscopy, it has been cancelled a few days before. Currently experiencing the worst flare up to date, affecting my bowels, pelvis, stabbing pain in my ovary and right breast. Some days are worse than others, fatigue is really bad, its upsetting when people don't understand and I feel alone sometimes. I am signed off work now and gone through occupational health as I have been really worried about having time off work.

Hello Forna, I am really sorry you’re having to go through that. Waiting for the surgery for so long and then having it cancelled is definitely not best and the stress can most definitely make the flare up worse. I went through something similar in 2020 as surgeries were cancelled due for he pandemic and it was awful to live with the uncertainty of not knowing when I’d be on the list again. You’re definitely not alone!!! What helped me during that time was to learn more about an anti inflammatory life style, including a heavy change in my diet. It helped me so much that for a while I reconsidered the surgery because I was pain free after so many years in pain every single day. Counselling also helps me too, I still do it. I hope you can find something that brings you some peace and relief while tou wait for a new date. Sending tou lots of love from here!
I am in the same situation, been signed off six months almost, been through occ health and have to go back to them. I’m waiting on a laparoscopy as it’s suspect endo and the not knowing for sure is getting to me as much as the pain.Just know you’re not alone.
